Long story short, 3 or 4 songs left in the set, he was argueing with the venue soundguy the whole show to turn up the mix for him. He goes over there and tries to tell him finally, and the guy was an idiot and didn’t understand… GIbby is walking back on stage telling him “up up” and the guy gives gibby the thumbs up sign like “yeah dude” so gibby gives him two thumbs up, then he turns them to middle fingers and he then hurles a bottle of beer at the guy, next thing there’s 2 bouncers on stage and they took him right off stage and kicked him out. There. That’s the news.
Totally great show too. I managed to sneak backstage and talk to theroadies and paul leary and a bunch of people from the opening acts. This wasn’t staged at all, or at least nobody in any of the bands including his own knew this was gonna be the end of the show, which is also the last night of the tour.
Not much, but I’m sure some people would rather have had a nice little rock and roll moment in their lives at the last ministry show of the tour.
i am jealous you go to see this tour. sucks that the show ended early, but you got to see something crazy, so i guess that’s cool too.
you didn’t mention the most important fact: Did they play any rolling stones covers?[angelic]
another guy i know went to see the buttholes recently, and something similar happened. unfortunately my friend is in europe right now. maybe details later.yeah, gibby’s kind of an ass. and he’s such a big dude(at @ 6’5"), he could potentially harm anybody–but don’t do that to the crew. that’s retarded.
here’s the word from friend who saw them on the 26th:
they sucked. School Of Rock On Tour (those movie kids from the mildly amusing Jack Black offering) opened, and then infiltrated the Butthole band throughout the set… At least one disgruntled patron demanded his money back, stating: “I didn’t bloody pay 25 quid to watch some fucking cunt kids hammering away at ACDC crap mate!”
i didn’t mind School of Rock, but the band Desalvo who played before them in Glasgow were utter crap.
also i took away 30 mins of quality video thanks to my camera [;)]
