I’m wondering if this guy is the same guy who wrote that long story on a demonoid or piratebay post where all ministry records and singles were online. and he said he did it because al owed him some money. i’d have to google to find that - i can’t load torrent sites here at work though. maybe some of you guys remember that post.

When someone owes you money, it is always a good idea to limit their source of income so that it makes it even less likely that they will every pay you.

do people around here not like torrents? if it weren’t for torrents, i would have never gotten into ministry in the first place. i would have never gotten all those cd/dvds and other merchandise. to this day, i would NEVER buy a cd without downloading it first. so torrents are definitely a good thing for a band imo.

Torrents work differently with movies. I don’t think anyone goes and buys a dvd after getting a torrent for it (unless it’s a shitty quality version or something). Even for music I doubt most people go and buy albums after downloading it unless they are really impressed. I download music all the time but the % of times where I go and buy albums after it (or some of their merch) is quite small.

Especially for Fix, torrents and filesharing will hurt it. I wouldn’t have a big issue with sharing something that’s going to make a lot of money anyway but with Fix… nah.

I’m an honest nerd. I’ve torrented programs and movies and music. the ones I like I’ll buy the retail versions, the ones I don’t like go in the trash. I’ve done that with guitar pro and music that’s been leaked and of the music that’s been leaked if its a band I collect I’ll buy multiple retail copies. The only movies I’ve downloaded are no longer available for purchase and are only available as bootlegs in any form. Although, I downloaded V for vendetta right after it hit the theaters but I’ve since bought 3 retail copies of it when it was released. the normal copy and a special edition with a mask and the bluray so i think I’ve more than paid for my unreleased copy of it
