I like that they’re using the old logo on the artwork.

I like the cover. “Pulse” was boring to me so I hope this one is more to my liking.

awesome, thanks fort he heads up. hope they do a US tour. even though i’'ve hated every live recorded version i have heard, i will still go and love a set from these bastardos.

If it’s anything like “Pulse,” I’ll be happy. [:)]

Thanks for the info!

Reserve a download? Bwahahahahahahaha!!!

It’s not like we’re going to miss out or anything?!

[:/] Disappointed!

The title is actually ‘First Moments’ on the cover, and the two ‘new’ tracks are live versions of U-Men and Im Rhythmus Bleiben, possibly from very recent performances. If you ever wanted to hear U-Men with live drums, uh, now’s your chance. I was expecting new songs, c’mon now. I guess that means another live album on the way? Hmm.

Kind of sucks, though not al that unexpected. Off/Up Evil were in 1993. Pulse was 2003. New album should be ready in 2013.

But they weren’t always that slow with releases were they? You have the stuff from geography to evil, which was pretty steady. But then they started getting slow. Live album in 98, and nothing for years. One EP and album, and then nothing since.

It seems like a lot of bands from the '80s were extremely prolific in those days. 12" here, EP there, album not far behind. The bigger the band got, however, the longer it took to release new stuff (usually because of extended tours). It’s cool that 242 gives us a couple of appetizers for what’s likely going to be some sort of live CD, but Alfa Matrix was almost cryptic in its description of the single, like they wanted us to think it was new music. I’m sure new 242 material could still be on the way.

The quality of these two songs is very good, and it does sound like they’ve backed away from the awful live-remix stuff they were doing in the late 90’s/early 00’s, but I’d rather have an old Official Version show mastered and released, fans would love that. I have the Live Target boot from '91 (Tyranny Tour), which the band has actually endorsed, and might as well be an official release. Amazing quality recording.

I’ve never done torrents before and am getting error messages. I keep getting the following error: Torrent got exception: socket.herror

Is it worth dicking around with this or should I just opt out of the EP?

Well, damn. Scratch out my previous comment, then.

i dunno, i loved most of reboot, especially the re-working of moldavia and punish your machine.

Havent been around here in ages!

I think the “New” Front 242 digital download EP is a pile of shit. I mean really, they hyped this thing like it was gonna be something new. Instead we got more live tracks of shit that I already have like 8 times over.

whatever. 242 is seriously causing me to lose interest.

I suppose that’s one of the advantages of being young: the discovery of the backcatalogues.

Hell, I just acquired and listened to Up Evil/Off/Angels Vs. Animals a few weeks ago… [:)]

Up Evil is still one of my fave albums ever.

Hell yes. “Religion,” Crapage," “Waste,” “Stratoscape,” and my personal favorite of the bunch, “Fuel”… Good stuff.

“Pulse”/“Still & Raw” just narrowly beats out “Up Evil” as my favorite 242 release.

I wonder what happened to 242’s proteges from the Evil Off album… 99 Kowalski and that dude. I got the feeling they were grooming 'em to take over, like Al and his replacement Cocks, but it never worked out.

Dunno. I, for one, fully enjoyed their flirtations with female vox on “Evil Off”/“Angels Vs. Animals.” “Animal” has to be one of the most venomous 242 tracks I’ve heard thus far, lyrically speaking.

Didn’t say I didn’t like it, just wondering what happened to the junior 242s from that album. One high profile guest spot and they disappear completely…

Noted, noted. Yeah, they did kinda disappear off the face of the map, didn’t they…
