Fridays cd to pull out if you have it...

Yeah, the first 3 Sab albums are now out as 2 CD Deluxe editions. Most of the 2nd cd tracks are dull. Like the instrumental version of War Pigs. But there are some good discoveries on there. Now if only they could deluxe the next 3, we’d be in business.

And like a sap, I keep buying them.

I have all the Ozzy era albums on vinyl, cassette, cd, the box set remastered cds, and now I’ve started with the deluxe editions.

Just missing the 8 tracks… [:)]

Did you ever pick up that reissue of Sabotage that came out a few years ago? It had all new liner notes talking about the making of the album. Apparently, “The Writ” was written as a fuck you to their record company.

Yes, “The Writ” is an F-You. I’d read about that, but I can’t remember if it was in Ozzy’s book or some interview/article with one of the other dudes.

Ozzy’s book, by the way, is a MUST READ for Sabbath fans. The stories of the Sabbath early days are totally golden. Two horns up!

I’m a little surprised you read Ozzy’s book after all the shit you’ve said about him.

Ozzy’s book is pretty good, I wish Geezer and Tony wrote some as well…I never knew Geezer wrote most of their material!

He doesn’t like his wife.

I call it as I see it.
I’ve loved Ozzy since like forever. But he’s a dottering old coot now and has no business being on stage when he can’t remember his own name, let alone the lyrics to his songs.

And yes, his wife is a soulless whore of a she-devil who should burn in the fires of Hell.

Ozzy can remember his lyrics just fine now that he’s sober. I’m sure the last time you saw him was at Ozzfest '05 and I agree that that was a bad show. That show is a close second behind C U LaTour as the most disappointing show I’ve ever been to. I admit that the cracks in his voice are more apparent as the years go on and maybe he should call it quits, but he still puts on a pretty good show for what he can do. Not sure if you listened to that alternate mix of Children Of The Grave, but he sounded like shit on it. And that was when he was in his prime. I’ve also heard a live version of Megalomania and he sounded horrible. Then again, that’s a tough song to sing. So it might be safe that he’s always had studio magic covering up his inabilities, but he’s still a helluva performer.

Most of the lyrics. The riffs were all Tony.

The problem with “Never Say Die” and “Technical Ecstasy” is that they forgot they were supposed to be scary. Those records sound like '70s hard rock. More like Foreigner or Kiss or something. Thank God for Dio.

Sabbath rules. I’m not really a fan of the Homo DJs cover, as I think the one on Greatest Fits is superior, but I see that tribute at Hastings staring me in the face every Goddamned day. I oughta snag it one of these days.

I’ve had the Black Box for a long time. It was gifted to me by my ma, and initially I was kinda pissed because I was a copy of Technical Ecstacy away from having all the Ozzy-era Sab albums, but once I listened to the damn thing, I got stoked. Not only because I was hearing things in the remasters I hadn’t heard before, but also that my copy of the first record was minus “Evil Woman” and had a STUPID, jumbled-up track order.

Never really got into Dio Sab. Mob Rules is cool, though.

If I had to rank them…

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
S/T
Never Say Die
Sabotage
Paranoid
Master of Reality
Vol. 4
Technical Ecstacy

master of reality remastered 2 disc set rules love every bit of it…vol.4 is the other killer disc by them.both my all time disc by them.

Dammit! I’m feeling the need to blow a massive chunk of cash getting all these remaster sets.

disc 2 of the master of reality song sweet leaf studio outtake featuring lyrics rule…

Gunnar ,Black Box is on sale for 60 used on amazon. Better off grabbing it, two discs of those records aren’t necessarily needed…
