Nativity In Black a Tribute to Black Sabbath

got today off from work for a long weekend and what way to

start it off…some killer tunes by killer bands…

I remember that one. It’s a good tribute.

1000 homo dj’s - supernaut is on it as well…

Al jourgensen - more addicting then heroin and pussy…

gross.

what…! just typing what Al said about it…

actually its fall and what better time to jam anything and everything of Black Sabbath…for the season…

Every season is Sabbath season.
I have always and will always hate Pantera, but whenever they would do a Sabbath cover it was ssoooooo good.

walk is the only song i like by them…

I didn’t mind that version of it…I’m not a Pantera fan but that cover and Planet Caravan I thought were tastefully done…

Have they done other Sab covers?

They covered Electric Funeral on NIB II. Great stuff.

Agreed on Planet Caravan. Nearly on par with the original. I’d go as far as saying Sabbath’s was the best song on Paranoid.

I don’t know what releases they were on (or if they were on any release), but I’ve heard them do “Electric Funeral”, “Symptom of the Universe”, “Planet Caravan” . . .

They were all superb. And I’m a Pantera hater and ragingly gay for Sabbath, so I’m pretty strict on my QC for covers.

Currently, by the way, this is my all-time favorite Sabbath cover . . .

WALL OF VOODOO!!!

WALL OF VOODOO!!!

Ahhh, every once in a while I run across someone else that knows who Andy is. God bless you.

“Symptom of the Universe”

When did this happen? I know Sepultura or Soulfly did it on one of the tributes, but Pantera? Looked on youtube. Couldn’t find anything.

I’ll ask my Pantera/Phil-lovin’ homie. I won’t swear by it, but I thought he played it for me before. I’ll let you know if/when I figure it out.

Haha…that guy actually did some very cool and unique solo stuff…the Wall of Voodoo stuff was fun but his solo stuff has a weird dark edge to it…

We’ll get along just fine, Son.
I am a major fan of Andy, his solo stuff included. “Sins of Our Fathers” is one of my top 5 albums of all time.

And his work with WOV is, in my opinion, so much deeper and darker than the Ridgway stuff. Stan is alright, and made Wall of Voodoo a really cool quirky band, but with more of a cartoon edge. Andy really took the band to a dark soulful place that Stan was incapable of even existing in. And his voice is total sex.

Yes dude YES!!! Sins of our Fathers is all kinds of greatness…PSYCHO EX!!! I loved his first album also but Sins took it a step forward…great stuff…I didn’t hear the one he recently did…either 2009 or 10 I believe…you heard that one?
