You can download from SPIN website. Just downloaded it. Listening to first song… it’s noise and I like it a lot so far. Again, it’s free.
is there anyone of note on it? one thing I can’t stand about ‘tribute’ cds is the fact they generally consist of two-bit artists I’ve never heard of doing fucking awful renditions of songs I once enjoyed.
Amanda Palmer doing Polly. Meat Puppets doing Smells like… and Vaselines doing Lithium. Then a bunch of no-name, nobodies without any connection to Nirvana. Not that AFP has any either, but at least people have HEARD of her.
Saw the Midnite Juggernauts there. FUCK THEM.
Palmer’s version was quite good. Even though I feel bad saying this because I’ve met her and she was really nice, I lost a bit of respect for her after she left the Dresden Dolls and seemed to be more focussed on just putting her name out there.
Then again, I don’t understand most people who do that. I couldn’t set up a website with my name as the domain and have a bunch of pictures up there of all the crap I’ve done and recorded and whatever. I can see why people do it, obviously, but… I like anonymity.
I thought Nirvana were a cover band
Only ones I have heard of are the Meat Puppets.
They should cover “Lake of Fire”.

I thought the dolls were making a new album??
“Polly” has banjo in it, which is awesome.

The blues version of “Save Me” is badass.
