Thanks for that! Nice bass presence on the recording, though I wish the guitar was more up-front in the mix, but that seems to be the way Broadrick likes the Jesu live sound – drums in your face, bass filling things out, and guitar and vocals there mainly for texture.
I saw Jesu twice when I was in England a little over a year ago when they had the guy from Knut on drums. One show in particular was really good, but it sounds like JKB is getting better at realizing the Jesu live sound as he continues to experiment with it. Hopefully they’ll make it to the States one of these days, and play at least one headlining gig I have access to. Seeing them open is kind of a drag given how long their songs are – a three-song set is pretty much all you get.
[reply]I agree with Al.
Fuck the circus maximus of arrogance and greed.
By charging $45 for tickets, and $25 for t-shirts?
Hee hee.[/reply]
I don’t mind paying it. In fact I’ve already shelled out $200 - $300 into the Ministry coffers this tour and with the release of RGB. It’s not that much considering the man has to pay for a record label, his own production, his own gear, moving and touring expenses, living expenses, and god knows what else. That’s gotta get expensive somewhere along the lines…
It’s a political statement, which I very strongly agree with. Get it straight.
Oh I know… And I can’t wait for the other stuff JKB is working on either. I’m especially interested in the new side project “Grey Machine” and the stuff he is doing with Eluvium. Should prove interesting. =)
