More adaptations on the way:
‘High Rise’ is in the works (dir. Vincenzo Natali)
as is ‘Concrete Island’ (dir. Brad Anderson) starring Christian Bale.

Cool. I also heard that Chris Carter (Throbbing Gristle) and Richard Kirk (Cabaret Voltaire/Acid Horse) were collaborating on a record in memory of Ballard, is that still true?
Awesome, a film version of High Rise could be great stuff.
Greendeath and I used to talk about how we thought Cronenberg’s “Shivers” could almost double as a film adaption “High Rise”, though both came out within months of each other.
More Ballard film would be great. Have any of you seen the Atrocity Exhibition movie? I haven’t but would love to. And yes “Shivers” is the Cronenberg body horror version of the awesome "High Rise’. I love how Ballard seems more contemporary now than he did 30 years ago.
Ballard’s archive is now in the British Library:

The irony of him not wanting or more so not having much time for personal archives is amusing. If I were in London right now I’d be in a pub getting all excited about visiting the archive the next day.
