On Friday November 2, 2007 JG Thirlwell will perform two consecutive sets at the Whitney Museum of Art in New York City.
Firstly with his ensemble Manorexia.
And then, secondly, JG will also present several pieces he has composed with the LEMUR robot instruments and string quartet.
The concert is a Composer Spotlight and part of the Friday Night concert series being hosted by the Whitney.
It starts at 7pm and is FREE with pay-what-you-wish admission to the museum.

The material will be drawn from the two Manorexia albums, Volvox Turbo (2001) and The Radiolarian Ooze (2002)
JG will also present several pieces he has composed with the LEMUR robot instruments and string quartet.
LEMUR is an acronym for the League of Electronic Musical Urban Robots.
The robots are self playing machines,including a four necked guitar, xylophone and numerous percussion instruments.

In addition to “Prosopagnosia”, a commissioned piece he premiered earlier this year at Three Legged Dog, Thirlwell will present a brand new piece and two new adaptations for robot instruments and strings : the Steroid Maximus piece L’espion Qui A Pleure and a special rearrangement of the theme song for The Venture Brothers cartoon,which JGT scores.

The Foetus remix album VEIN is released on Ectopic Ents thru Birdman Recordings on October 16.
It includes contributions by Fennesz, Mike Patton, Jay Wasco, Jason Forrest, TRZTN (of Services), Tweaker, Matmos, Tom Recchion and JG Thirlwell
In addition, on Nov 21 JG Thirlwell will perform with a new Manorexia ensemble in a European premiere at St Giles in the Field in London’s West End.
The European version of Manorexia will feature JG Thirlwell along with frequent collaborator Angharad Davies on violin (www.angharaddavies.com), plus other guest players on violin, viola, cello, piano and tuned percussion.
On Nov 22, JG Thirlwell will be performing Christian Marclay’s Screenplay piece, in a trio with Blevin Blectum and Janine Rostron (Planning To Rock) in London for the Wire 25 festival at Bush Hall, 310 Uxbridge Road.
And on Nov 18 JG will DJ at the Acid Mothers Temple show at Corsica Studios in Elephant and Castle.
Meanwhile JG is hard at work scoring the third season of the Adult swim cartoon The Venture Brothers.
