Just got it today, I’m about to pop it in right now.
Oh man the picture of Paul on the inside is pretty wrecked! he looks kinda like an old wino, but a cool old wino! There’s also a pic that looks like an updated version of the acid horse front cover.
as for the music…
So far it sounds like an extension of old lead into gold! I’m loving the shit out of track one although I’m only half way through track one! but unless it changes too drastically I’m pretty sure this disc is gonna get heavy rotation! further updates as tracks warrant!

Arrived here as well. I’m impressed with the quick shipping. Yeah, I’m not a digipack fan either, though the cover art is pretty cool. The front cover is sort of like a cross between the Lead Into Gold logo and the Acid Horse kaleidescope effect. Still working my way through it, but so far it’s sort of a cross between Lead Into Gold and the better parts of Dark Side. If you liked Vex And Siolence, this’ll be right up your alley. A more comprehensive review to follow after a full listen or two.
I’m digging the hell out of this. Second time through now. Paul up front where he belongs.
This sounds like the logical evolution of Lead into Gold.
This is a good way to describe this cd… I hear more LID than I do dark side of… I hear a little bit of “useless” from Filthpig in here! There is only one track, so far, I don’t care for, and if i remember correctly it’s track 5
The digipack is fine. It looks good.
Are you a jewel case enthusiast grumpy?
A complete jewel case enthusiast. jewel cases keep the integrity of the package better. digipacks fall apart with little to no handling. they rip, they scuff the disc (if it’s a slip holder) and most importantly, they lay funny in the disc holder!!

yeah. i also like jewel cases. they can be easily replaced. also, for some reason i like front cover to be square (digipak front cover is in rectangular form), and i don’t know why exactly i prefer square cover format.
also i don’t like transparent thingys in jewel cases that hold the disc, how are they called properly btw? in my experience, the old black and gray ones lived longer than the modern transparent ones, which have more fragile “pins” that hold the cd inself.
edit:
wow, this cd has another version of “Sugarwater” song that was released by USSA. and it’s the same riff… cool!!
disc plate, I believe is the actual term of the thing that holds the disc.
I like the clear disc plates only because you have access to more album art but as far durability i would half to agree that the Clear plates do not hold up as long as their black counterparts.

So forget about the Digipack stuff, but let me ask you guys this: Do you like what you heard in this Flowering Blight album better than the Bush trilogy Ministry albums? I’m curios…

The first song blows the whole Bush trilogy out of the water!! it’s great and I’ve listened to the whole disc roughly 7-8 times already!!
It’s good shit maynard!!!
and REV there is no booklet it’s only a fold out…and what I don’t like about track 5 is that chick singer (black I believe her name is) but everything else is really solid even track 5 where that chick isn’t singing is great!!

HA!
I like this WAY better. Can I say that again? WAY better.
This album is fuggin awesome.
I didn’t mind the Houses and Rio Grande. They were ok, as far as straight ahead metal with drum machines go. Nothing interesting, but fine for what they were. The Last Sucker was just lazy. It had a couple of songs that were of the “ok for straight ahead metal with drum machines” but not very interesting catagory, and it had several that were just plain terrible. When I first heard “Die in a Crash” I thought I was listening to bad 90’s orange county pop-punk.
But this Flowering Blight album is in another league. I wouldn’t even compare them. The first two albums of the bush trilogy were ok for what they are; Flowering Blight is fuggin great.
Now, if this is from 2003, does that mean that there is already more Paul solo stuff that is done and ready to come out?
Not to be greedy, but I’d buy the next Flowering Blight right now if it was available.
Grump - Even This Day was the low point for me as well. Maybe it’ll grow on me. Everything else is amazing. The first track is a 12 minute long epic. As previously mentioned, there are 2 songs on here that also were on the USSA album, but these are pure Barker versions. If I remember Afra correctly, this stuff predates USSA, so I’m guessing they recycled these for USSA use. After hearing these versions, the USSA versions kind of sound like cover versions (which, I guess they kind of were). My favorites so far are Holy Sugarwater and Lover’s Leap, though that could easily change upon further listening and it’s not like the others are far behind. Far and away the best album of the year.
So what is it? Industrial, experimental, hard rock, or a mixture of all?
From The web page
How do you like it? Slow, heavy, dark, & layered with distortion and moments of discord? Hmm, yeah-- me too. This is Flowering Blight.
I’d say it was a mix of Industrial and experimental, maybe a quick dash of hard rock…You just got to hear it!! It’s Bad Ass, is what it is! go collect some cans out by the highway until you get enough money to purchase this bad boy!!
