@rev: I think I chose either the “special” or “catalog” price option from the list of amazon choices it gave me on tunecore. I figured those might be less than the usual.
Break me, fix me
Come ‘on, Baby, Mixxx me!
I got the con you got the job.
Eerie von Buttload high on the hog.
RevAmp, RamCo, any way ya wanna blow.
It’s a riot, it’s a riot, Captain Bigstick wants to try it.
Thunderstruck dumptruck.
Lookin’ like a pile of suck.

I’m way more efficient than Al, though. I’m actually writing the REMIX before even recording the album. Up yours, Jourgensen!!!
[reply]I like the music of The Cryptids very much. Nice mix of oldschool goth rock attitude and more industrial style programming.
Wow, I appreciate that.
Wish I had your drive to do something with it, but eh. That’s life.
EDIT: I added one more song. And that’s all I’ve got in the can right now.[/reply]
It’s tough man. I don’t know if “I’m doing something”. Definitely trying and at least playing live and getting it out there. I’ve been in a bit of a slump but I’m starting to come out and get back on my feet.
Don’t sell yourself short. I’m not always into your aesthetic, but I’m always impressed with your moxie.
And yes, it’s just me. I’ve done some remixes, which are floating around the net, and a couple of collaborations, which I recently removed from Myspace because I wanted to just have new stuff up there.
Due to an overwhelming response in the number of artist submissions for the Ministry contest, the winning artist will now be announced on January 31st. Paul Barker (Ministry producer, co-writer, engineer, and bass player) is listening to each and every track to carefully determine which one will score a place on the Ministry Movie companion album.
Our song was good but unfortunately I don’t think it has much of a chance.
We submitted late (Jan 2 at like 1am technically) because I misread the original thing to say “submissions are due Jan 2” rather than “Paul will review them Jan 2”.
I doubt that would disqualify us because they probably aren’t very organized and I bet a bunch of stuff slipped through the cracks.
However the track was mastered at a very low volume. We were in such a rush to get it up, we never realized that until a bit later.
Do you guys agree that a low volume master would pretty much disqualify us because it looks very unprofessional (and they’d have to remaster it to include it among other tracks)?
I always wondered how this would work regardless. When you have a soundtrack, the songs are mastered to roughly the same volume. But as contestants we were never given a track to match to. So someone must be matching all the volumes on the songs (even the ones by the pro artists that are gonna be on the soundtrack) at some point before it gets released…
Anyway the reason I haven’t posted our song “FIX” is that I need to re-mix it at a much higher volume. Except Pro Tools shat the bed on me. So that’s why the song isn’t up yet…Sorry for the delay!
I can see that being an issue - I’ve been on a couple of compilations, and my songs sounded weak compared to some of the others.
I doubt Paul would care when making his decision, though.
Listened to the first page of entries. Some of these really suck. Some of them are very good (loving the Teknosuicide powernoise one).
A lot of them are remix/covers, though.
I’m starting to wonder whether the cover/remix ones misunderstood the contest or those of us who did original songs misunderstood it.
