Firefox 3 + prongs.org + Win2000

I’m not really a “fan boy” about applications or computer “trends” but I have to say that Firefox 3 is - hands down - the fastest browser I have ever used. I am running it on my 2000 machine at work and it does wonderful.

Strange thing with this site tho… it seems that my cookie for this site is always “Expired”. Every time I go to our prongs message board I have to re-login. The only time I don’t is if I am in the same “session” and return. This does NOT happen on my XP machine at home. So it would seem to only be a Win2K issue. Not sure about mac. Afra, do you have any insight?

I like 3.0, and it does seem faster, but I have also had expired-session issues with a few sites I regularly visit. I’ve had to re-log in to certain sites more often than before (though I stay logged in here).

I don’t know - I am on a Mac and things work fine here using Firefox 3.0 (though I tend to use Safari). Using FF now and can’t even remember the last time I logged in. Try clearing the cookies and then trying again - lemme know. I know you probably did this but when you log in, you do check the “Remember me” checkbox, or whatever it is?

I’ve had that problem with Firefox 2 as well.

if you log on to your computer at work with a specific username and password, this might be a security measure that the administrator put in…

WIN.

yeah you should rock prongs in lynx.

i’ve used firefox on my mac laptop and haven’t had to log into prongs manually in years. i’m liking 3 much more than 2 though. that was never very stable for me once i got an intel mac.

yea i hear you, however, at home (after i’ve been at work on here) i don’t have to re-login. just thought it was something to bring up. its obviously a win2k thing.

not related to this site, but i have noticed i sometimes have issues viewing embedded video in FF3. other than that, yeah, even the beta was great stuff. i have been using firefox for about 5 years now, (i <3 mozilla!)

thanks, Leo Laporte!
