“National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” still delivers the goods 30+ years later. The scenes with Uncle Louis and Aunt Bethany are the best. The “fried” cat, the squirrel in the tree, Eddie pouring toxic waste down the sewer, Uncle Louis’ cigar, etc. Brian Doyle Murray as the kidnapped boss. Classic.

I saw a meme on Facebook (can’t find it to post here) that showed Chevy Chase in his Santa hat with his chainsaw, and it said, “The older I get, the less crazy he looks.” Great movie.

Good picks. When you take a step back, “A Christmas Story” hasn’t aged well, has it? The soap in the mouth, the glorification of school violence, a spoiled and conniving little brat who does everything in his power to manipulate his family into buying him a gun… Still love it, tho.
What’s wrong with soap in the mouth? I still threaten my kid with it.

“Daddy’s Home 2” is surprisingly funny. Something about Will Ferrell and holiday movies that seems to work well.
