OK Computer.
these may not have my fav tracks but from front to finish my fav albums in diff genres are: nirvana-in utero, nin-tds, cure-disintegration, wu tang clan- 36 chambers, lycia -cold, floyd - dark side, the police- ghosts, catherine wheel- ferment, aic - sap/jar of flies combo… and the bitch side of me thinks that sarah mclachain’s fumbling towards ecstasy is great too. and yeah i obviously grew up in the 90s.
[reply] Guns N’ Roses Appetite For Destruction
Quite possibly the worst album on the face of the planet. If someone starts up a “Your Worst Album Ever” thread…that’d be mine![/reply]
apparently you’ve never heard a RHCP record?
As with many others in here, I find it difficult to pin 1 album down.
However, if I’m to be honest…‘Tinseltown Rebellion’ by Frank Zappa I play at least once a day. I never tire of hearing top musicians at the top of their game.
As with much of FZs work, there’s something for every mood…and I NEVER cease to be amazed at Vinnie Coliauta’s genius drumwork. The guy’s a rhythm freak/genius! This album may well be replaced when I get hold of ‘Zappa in Buffalo’, a 2CD official bootleg set from the same 1980 touring band.
So many others bring a smile to my ears, but if I have to name one, I guess this is it.
Aw shucks…no place for Cardiacs ‘Sing to God’, Swans ‘Holy Money’, Foetus ‘Thaw’, Brain Eno ‘Airports’, Terminal Cheesecake, Cocteau Twins, Temptations etcetcetc.
Good Question Icepick!!!
Jason A
Led Zeppelin IV
despite those songs being overplayed, when you
reallly listen to it end to end, it’s majestic as all hell.
double gate-fold vinyl is good for separating seeds
and stems too.

I guess I have a ‘bitch side’ as well - the live version of “Possession” on Mirrorball is pretty kick-ass. Doesn’t help that I want to bang the life out of that Nova Scotian hottie. Anyway, Fumbling is a solid album.

I’m schizo with the Chili Peppers, though I probably like them more than hate them. It’s mostly their newer, mellower sound that bothers me. They probably don’t have a single ‘solid’ album in their discography, but I do like most of Mothers Milk (their “Higher Ground” cover still sounds great today), and Blood Sugar… and Californication are well done records. Problem with that band is it seems like every one of their singles got overplayed to death on the radio and MTV. They do seem like one of those ‘hated by many, loved by few’ bands. I don’t mind them, in small doses.

Quoted for justice.
i love the chili peppers. i think john frusciante is one of the most talented true guitar players we have today. hell the guy pretty much rose from the grave and is playing again. he even beat the stereo-type.
with this being brought up… blood sugar is in my top-5.

Agreed.
As for favorite album, I had to pick something that I can listen to all the way through every time and not feel the need to skip a track. It may not contain my all time favorite songs, but as a complete album, it works.
Skinny Puppy > Too Dark Park

Agreed but I don’t think it is there fault. I have a total boner for John Frusciante
yeah i obviously grew up in the 90s.
That would explain your crappy taste in music then.

Soundtrack to the movie Jimi Hendrix. Juuuust inched out Electric Ladyland.
Never forget the first time I heard Like a Rolling Stone off of that, true genius!
Then seeing the movie, even more remarkable as in I did not know he was playing that with his teeth, behind the back etc etc…
