End of Ministry, end of this forum?

So yeah, what the hell’s gonna happen to this board when Ministry ends? [:P]

Well, I sure am glad Ministry isnt Pink Floyd!!

i doubt prongs will go away, afra runs this stuff out of habit/hobby. even though it started ministry based, we do steer well off topic alot of times. i love prongs for it greatly varying views on many different bands.

we could always turn it into a jesu board.

I’ll still hang around, as long as there’s other people to talk to! I’d love to get more insight and stories from people like wempathy and other past band members. There still seems to be a lot of interest and some mystery to Ministry’s early days, so I think there’s plenty to discuss for a while around here. And like Catgoat said, discuss other bands. Plus, we can post Top 10 lists and faux compilations until the end of time.

I’m not going to be shutting down the board or website. The majority of threads is not about Ministry - there’s a lot of discussion going on. I always liked that about this board (I’ve heard of new bands though many of you). I think it’ll just turn into a Prongs board (which it more or less anyways).

I’m not even doing work on the official site anymore - an outside PR company has been hired to do all that (I just gave ministrymusic.org to them as it was registered originally by me). The site is still being hosted by me, but it should be moving over very shortly. The Ministry Myspace site I started is now run by them too.

The prongs.org/ministry site gets way more hits than the original site and holds much more information. I’ll obviously keep the site up - more of an archive of information.

In order for something to survive you need new blood, and there isn’t a whole lot of new fans for Ministry coming in. This board is a good example, many of us have been here for a long time. It’s unusual to get a noob. It does happen though. Granted Piss Army is now in existence but in 5 years it (PA) will likely be deserted as all the new fans that gravitated there move on.

I don’t know - I don’t see it dying here. Or at least I won’t be shutting it down. I say this because this board has been around and active from the most active to inactive days of Ministry. When there is no news of Ministry, we tend to discuss other things.

If you surf the thread titles on here, you’ll notice the majority are not about Ministry (now it seems like it as news of the new album and tour is circulating), however, generally, we discuss a lot of other things.

Many threads are also dedicated to Barker and his stuff and this will probably continue.

Luckily this wasn’t always a Ministry-only forum. The title of this forum is “prongs: Discussion Board”…

Just because there will be no more ministry, doesn’t mean that the forum will just topple over. There’s always something and it’s not like Al’s retiring from music altogether, either; we’re supposed to get a bunch of newer projects and signings, right? So why not focus on the label and whatever comes out it, whether it’s revco, buck satan or whatever else. So I doubt anything Al-related here is going to fizzle out anytime soon.

Yeah sure…we will still talk about the 13th planet & Paul Barker among other related Ministry artists & industrial music in general.

I hope this forum doesn’t die.
Afra and bisquitodoom have given us some pretty cool stuff.
Here’s to nostalgia.

jizzwad: agreed 100%

jizzwad: agreed. going back to 2003.
there is no room for anything remotely new in the current camp. and you’re right. there’s a mutually destructive thing going on, and it’s just plain soap opera. make some music that means something and sounds exciting. otherwise, close the door.all the PR from wife number two won’t change the public’s opinion of what ministry sounds like anymore.
afra has devoted countless hours to informing you and me and everyone else. everyone who has EVER worked with the band in whatever capacity that doesn’t involve sleeping with the crew knows that time WILL take you out.
goodnight.

patti was a person .
she had opinions about stuff other than al. she was NOT a groupie obsessed with making her own imprint upon the band.she had a soul.
ask the long list of people formerly affiliated (isn’t that pretty much EVERYONE?)
i actually liked the"original" MRS.JAY, as did most everyone. and she didn’t need the moniker, by the way. she stood on her own.

Holy crap, that’s fantastic.

Indeed.

Um, isn’t Mrs. Jay Al’s manager? Doesn’t she also work the business end of 13th Planet? There’s a reason she’s been the spokesperson here apart from feeding her own ego (though I’ve no doubt that’s a part of it).

anyone know if angie managed a band before?
a label?
an artist?

I would think not.
