I’ve been trying to find some pics from 2004 when he was fat because he was actually bigger then…there is one in particular wear he is crouching in some little shorts or something and his thighs are so flabby. It’s quite hilarious. The weight fluctuations he has been going through recently are unbelievable. If you look at photos around 2007, 2008 he was stick thin for awhile.
Not sure what to make of it. I guess drinking would cause that. Sometimes I think maybe he tries to quite coke or something, but then goes back to it after the weight piles on. I know heroine makes you gain weight from eating sweets right? But that drug doesn’t seem like Manson’s style…
I think it’s just plain alcoholism and maybe a poor diet.
It’s quite pathetic when you think how easy it would be for him to just get a personal trainer and curb the drinking a bit, and just eat a healthy diet which can still be enjoyable.
I think being in shape should be mandatory for any live performer. Seeing fat asses on stage is just embarrassing and it doesn’t look right.

lol no, at least not in its entirety since maybe the tour for ‘Holy Wood’. His setlists have been utterly stagnant for years and if anything from Portrait is included, it’s usually as some kind of embarrassing medley or mash-up with one of the other songs (usually “Sweet Dreams”–which desperately needs to be dropped altogether).
I hope all this fatness and self loathing does not make a mess of that Lewis Carroll film he has planned. He really shouldn’t play the lead in the state he’s in. I read he plans on having twin girls having sex on the film. Kudos to him if he pulls that off (and not make it look just like a cheap porno)

To be honest it doesn’t look like that film is going forward. In recent interviews he changes the subject when asked, saying he’s all about the music now that Twiggy is back.
The most coherent answer he gave on it was something along the lines of how it would mean he’d have to take a year off working and have no income because he’d be funding it.
Also his ex Evan Rachel Wood was supposed to star.
My gut feeling is it will never happen which is a shame because I think if he had his shit together he could produce a film every bit as good as Rob Zombie’s stuff but more cerebral and less gore, more suspense and great visuals.
Manson is certainly a very intelligent person. Much smarter than a Trent Reznor or Rob Zombie guy IMO. But also that much more fucked up.

I agree. The one thing that could really save him is a drastic change. I’m thinking if Reznor produced his next album, which doesn’t look it would ever happen. Or a total makeover image-wise. The goth thing is so fucking old at this point. Lose the weight. Pull another transformation like he did with Mechanical Animals, but totally different style. He’s an iconic guy so his look is important.
Also the music has to drop this whining romanticism and take on something more relevant to more people I feel. It’s hard for anyone to relate to Manson when he talks about his personal life because he has fashioned such an otherworldly persona and image, and is clearly the villain in all of his personal relationships.
In fact, I think a break from music is long overdue and should have come after ‘Holy Wood’ or ‘Golden Age of Grotesque’. His film Phantasmagoria could resurrect him as an icon if it was truly great. Then with renewed interest and vigor, a new album loosely based on the film might attract newcomers.
Either way Manson should have taken a break from music for a long stretch during the 00’s.

You can only go so long without an album without the fat cats hassling you…unless you’re trent… If he didn’t do downward spiral, no one would’ve put up with five-six year waits between albums. But yeah, manson needs to disappear for awhile.

I agree that it is almost certainly the label at this point, forcing him to tour and create new albums to generate revenue. There was an interview with Dita von Teese where she went in depth about the circumstances surrounding their divorce.
She said the label had forced him into the studio (this would have been during the creation of ‘Eat Me, Drink Me’) and he was in a “drug fug”–as she called it–texting her to come back.
lol she also said the whole “I want a divorce” thing was done by text message. It’s an amusing and revealing interview. I’ll post it if I can find it now.

Yes. He kind of has this obsession with girls who are basically toned down female versions of him haha. I find it endearing because they essentially become like puppets or accessories. I like that controlling, misogynistic quality about him because I identify.
