yes thats when blixa’s ego started to get on the others nerves! i’ve read stories of other artists meeting him and only wanting to smash his head into walls.
silence is sexy certainly has its moments though, it feels like nick cave/swans jarboe-era releases…semi-calming but of course filled with clever introspective lyrics.
I always enjoyed Nuebauten’s music, whether it be old-school industrial cacaphony or the quiet orchestral serenity of some of their later work, but Blixa Bargeld’s voice just gets on my nerves constantly.
Especially all that wierd yelping in the older releases like Strategies…
Sometimes his voice can be strong and expressive, beautiful even, and wrought with emotion. But other times it is just irritating.
Yeah, it’s kinda funny regarding Blixa and his shift in song writing focus.
Why is it that, as soon as a junkie musician cleans up his act, then quality of artistic output goes down the freakin’ toilet??
