Earth

Local Montreal Paper just reviewed the new Earth album, and gave it their disc of the week:

The Bee Made Honey in the Lion’s Skull
Single-handedly inventing ambient drone metal back in the grunge years, Earth completely reinvent themselves once again and release what is surely an early contender for the record of ’08. The drones are still there, anchored by non-wavering keys, but the movements within definitely come from ’70s jazz rock and ’60s psych. Guitarist Bill Frisell guests on three of the seven opuses and again proves to be an expert at laying back and providing a perfect counterpoint to guitarist Dylan Carlson’s solid foundation. Just pure genius stuff here. 9/10

Can anyone guide me in the right direction with these guys? Someone told me Earth 2: Special Low-Frequency Version is a good place to start…

Yeah.

Just buy Earth 2 and the ‘remix’ album.

Then stop.

Trust me.
