Anyone pick this up. It’s getting mixed reviews but I’ll probably end up buying it soon. 13 years is a long wait & I don’t think anything could meet the level of what gamers expect. I remember playing the original & thinking this is the best.

I’ll pick it up in the next few days.
True, it’s getting mixed reviews but then again so did Wolfenstein and that’s my favourite PC game ever. And anyway, the trailer looked fun.
Gamers were expecting the second coming - which they’re not going to get. And critics were drooling over Portal 2 not long ago and that’s looks as boring as shit from what I’ve seen.
I prefer the good old fashioned violent shoot em up games.
I have it. It’s no bioshock, but it’s good for what it is. Very outdated… I’m having fun with it along with a few chuckles though. I’d only recommend it to those who are already fans of the series though. Assuming there’s a next game, i’m sure that one will be amazing. This was someone’s else’s game after all. I thjink the reviewers are just letdown because it’s not the masterpiece they thought it would be after so many years.
I’m just buying the monthly Fallout: New Vegas DLCs for now.
In a few months I’ll look into getting a new desktop. I need it anyway, but secretly it’s mostly to play the upcoming Elder Scrolls V.

I’ve still got to beat new Vegas and oblivion…
F.E.A.R. 3 is another one I’ll be picking up…really looking forward to this. I think the first one was better but I’ve enjoyed them all. It looks really cool. My Machine Specs built in Dec 2010:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit 7.7 Experience Index
Intel i7 950 3.07GHz
6.00 GB Corsair RAM
1 TB Hard Drive
5850 ATI Radeon
Have yet to ever play any of the F.E.A.R. games. I hear they’re good though. After I finish DNF, I’ll probably go back to Lords of Shadow. Been curious to try finishing Oblivion before the new one comes out. Luckily, I don’t really have any games coming out until September now.
Am playing it right now and absolutely loving it.
Don’t understand the hate at all.

I haven’t beaten New Vegas yet myself - you can’t continue after the final quest, so I’m making sure all the DLC add-ons are done before I finish the game.
Really? I hear you have to be about lvl 20 to even stand a chance in the dlc. I have to start over too. With oblivion, I didn’t get far at all.
I was level 30 and very close to beating the game when Dead Money came out. When I finished that, I just stopped playing until Honest Hearts.
Recently upgraded my computer- it’s a total sleeper, looks like a 8 year old Dell on the outside, inside I’ve got 8 gigs Ram (expanding up to 16 eventually) and one o’ them AMD 6-cores.
Not much of a gamer, though. Downloaded the torrent with all the Sega & Nintendo emulators and all the games, been rocking some Marble Madness and Mario Kart 64.
Really just upgraded it so Netflix wouldn’t lag anymore and so I could install a copy of Cakewalk Sonar that the band bought so I can take mixes back and forth.
DUKE!
a friend of mine may have a deal for me so i am waiting. i saw the hate, and i have only played the demo. it IS very dated, but i had a smile on my face just from the intro videos, and the nostalgia factor goes a long way for me in this case it seems.
one thing that pissed me off though is the change to the 2 weapon halo format. i no likey. i wanna carry everything at once, and if anyone can, it’s Duke, amirite?
Yeah, I will probably pick up DNF when it hits the bargain bins or a Steam sale. Hell, I may even pick it up when it hits $25 or so, just for nostalgia purposes. I remember loving the original DN3D back in '95/'96 when it came out…but I already thought the engine was a little creaky and I was awaiting Quake with its fully 3D world.
As far as current stuff, I am loving Portal 2 and Fallout: New Vegas and plan on getting the DLC. I will probably get FEAR 3 eventually. I loved the first FEAR and it had awesome atmosphere and a few good scares. The various FEAR mission packs were good but a bit too similar and far too short. Fear 2 was really a sleeper hit 2 years ago but it was one of the shittiest single player experiences I’ve ever seen. I beat it in a day or two. Then the DLC was even weaker–it had like 3-4 hours or less of SP.
