District 9, amazing movie with a poignant social commentary, cheaply made fun mockumentary or utter crap?

I haven’t seen it since the theater, but we bought the blu-ray lst week so it’ll probably be tomorrow.
I really liked this film, and for the amount of money they spent it blows away a lot of the summer blockbusters of the past decade that cost 5 times as much!!! For something that came from the ashes of the aborted Halo movie, District 9 was well thought out and the social aspects of it were spot on.
Parts of the premise reminded me somewhat of Alien Nation for anyone who remembers that movie and TV series.
Yeah its good, think it got mention in the film thread last year. The end was a bit ridiculous but you got to love the South African accents.
I loved it. One thing about that movie i’ve noticed is even the people i know who hated it didn’t want to turn it off before the end.
