I can certainly understand why people dislike Episodes I and II, but I thought III was awesome. The original movies aren’t free from fault. Ewoks. Enough said.
III was cool just for the outright slaughter of the Jedis. At that point the movies had sucked so bad you just wanted to see it all burned to the ground. But Christianson can’t act his way out of a paper bag. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
The most egregious things in the original trilogy Special Editions were CG Jabba at Mos Eisley and that terrible musical number in his palace in Jedi. That right there should have been enough to keep 1-3 from getting made.
So how long do you guys think until Marvel vs. Star Wars?
The prequels were abortions. No one could defend it otherwise. Lucas with too much creative control at an old age is dangerous. Disney doing it could be better, but I doubt it - mostly because they have not had a hand in anything ‘adult’ oriented in god knows how long. Even “Fantasia” had edges.
I admire how Lucasfilm was sold for as much as it was. Damn! More than Marvel - and I would think Marvel would be worth billions in itself.
Disney may own it now, but I’m sure they’ll just hire a director and be pretty hands-off like they are with the marvel movies. I’m a little worried , but I’m also curious to see how this pans out.

I didn’t think he was really that bad, certainly no worse than Mark Hamill. AND that little fucker in Episode I… ugh… Now that little fuck stick was Horrible. How can a child not act? their whole day is filled with pretending… they should be natural actors, but not that kid!
But, I’m actually curious to see how they’re gonna cast this thing, and if the original actors will have cameos. If they are gonna bring in some writers that are fans or keep the writers as outsiders. Don’t know if anyone caught in the article that Lucas will still be a consultant for the movies. So, I still think it’s gonna be Lucas but he just has someone to take the fall for his garbage now.

Don’t hold yer breath. They recently, royally fucked up John Carter - a story that had been around for years and was literally just SCREAMING out to be made in glorious CGI.
In the right hands that movie could have been the new Lord Of The Rings trilogy - there’s a veritable feast of source material to pillage from (just google “John Carter Of Mars” and you’ll see what I mean).
Yet they somehow managed to make the most charisma free, boring crapfest imaginable…a crime for which I’m sure plenty of Disney executive heads did roll.
Christensen’s acting was just a little too melodramatic for my tastes. I didn’t mind the kid in ep. 1. It was a kid. Got what I expected. Episode II was atrocious. And if you can get past the shitty acting for Anakin , episodes one and three weren’t that bad. But of course, you’ve got to be able to see past the whining.
Looks like Michael Arndt (the guy who wrote Little Miss Sunshine) is writing the new film. This is gonna suck.
This means nothing. He’s just the first writer. if it indeed does suck they will bring in another writer. they have people that do script rewrite work too. Don’t worry dude it’s not gonna be as bad as it could.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought Phantom Menace was alright. Darth Maul was a bad ass! I could even get past Jar Jar Binks. And the pod race was awesome.
