Discography

Wait till you see what JW and I are going to be doing with the discography - will be very awesome. Will be awesome. A page dedicated to each song with all the info you ever wanted. We’re working on it and it is getting there. Will be all database driven too so will be super flexible, etc.

Sweet. If you guys need any assistance of any kind, let us know.

oi, i just thought of something. i obviously haven’t seen the discog yet, but wouldn’t it be cool to do like they do on litany, have some members involved with a song comment on it’s recording/creation and such every once in awhile? it would go nicely on the song pages?

One of the very things I’m hoping to include. Got a few major members of the group willing to dish, it’s all a matter of scheduling at this point.

Sounds interesting! Can’t wait to see it either

Really really really looking forward to it! [:)]

Afra, you are two steps away from sainthood.

You need to add Pink Anvil to the list of Ministry side projects on the main site. That’s been bothering me for awhile, especially considering it’s my favorite side project.

I’m not certain that should be up here. I mean, yes, the site covers a lot of Barker related stuff, like USSA and such… and Barker was a man part of Ministry for a VERY LONG time. But these new projects are all Barker and no Al. This is a MINSTRY website, which should focus on Al’s stuff. Maybe put up a new section in general for related stuff to ex Members? Of course that could just be a big can of worms to open since there are so many and they have their hands in god knows what all. Anyways…

Peace!

Yeah but Halloween party was recorded long before barker left the band and outside of al’s wine induced ramblings of a “hired bassist” i don’t think anyone disputes that Paul was half of ministry in those years.

I’m not disputing that Paul was integral to the band during the years that he wasinvolved with Ministry. Just that we should actually seperate and diversify the site to reflect what others are doing that have been involved with Ministry.

See, I have this theory.

Ministry is dead. After this tour and such we will no longer have anything to say about Ministry other than “remember this” or “remember that” or “hey, I found this…” and so on. But, there are lots of ex-Members that we can update on and so forth. Which will not only keep the site alive but truly spread the totality in which this site owns all things Ministry and Ministry related. It also opens up all the other avenues of dialogue that we have here, and can at the same time hopefully lessen some of the Al bashing that has become all this, no offense intended here to anyone in particular, once great forum and site.

I mean, don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying this isn’t a great place, as I still come here, but we get bashed on by a lot of other forums because of the antics that go on here. And I’m not saying that Al won’t be doing anything that we can’t comment on as he will have his hands full and in the mix of plenty of things with 13th Planet and other bands and remixes, I’m sure.

Anyways, that is all I was trying to infer when I said that we should seperate the Paul aspects to their own section.

Peace!

Perhaps there should be a separate listing for post-Ministry projects, as opposed to side-projects.

I had a feeling at some point that the Paul issue would come up. The main reason why I added things that were related to Paul (examples: Dessau, Blackouts, et al.), and even post-Ministry, is due to the fact that he is the only member that has been around for the longest. He was never listed as “additional personnel” on any of the records, he is one half of MINISTRY.

Truthfully, the site has always (and looking at the banner, still is) a Ministry site, but I was hoping eventually it would turn simply into a Jourgensen/Barker site down the line, for one main reason: the band is ending, and things will slow down long enough to where keeping up with just the works of two individuals – rather than a band – will be much easier.

I dunno. I don’t run Prongs. It’s Afra’s call, but the longevity of Paul’s figure in the band is the only reason why I put anything current to him. Notice I even put Flowering Blight and USSA in the “side projects” section…

Halloween Party uses elements of Animositisomina, and Max Brody is the other member. I’d say it counts, even if it was “after.”

USSA, on the other hand, isn’t a “sideproject,” thank God.

To me, Ministry is Al and Paul. Rather than break the site up, I’d much rather keep it as an Al and Paul site. Not only would that split the group, but think of all the redundant material that would be contained in the two discographies. The guys worked together on virtually everything for overa decade.

vote for al n paul site too.

i mean, barker was full-time member since 87 up to 2004, for almost 18 years.
