If so, what respectable educational institution would even consider Al in a teaching capacity esp. history?

Listen to or watch any interview/presentation he has given in the last few years or (gasp!) look at his lyrics off the last 3 albums and it is patent that hes both childish and lazy. And unless he has been mentally impaired in the last few years im pretty sure no dignified person would just give up their “smarts” … unless of course it is to sell out, but he still sells fuck all abums anyway.

i dont think his lyrics have gotten any worse over the past 3 albums. hell if anything i think they have gotten smarter. he isnt singing about anal fuck fests (connelly/so what) or working for love (WS)…

You remind me of a guy I study with in law school - he is a real pompous egomaniac and his “mastery” of all things academic is “indisputable.”
Because he is “never wrong,” he’s great to study with because our arguments (which have been known to exceed 3 hours) as to the accuracy or application of even the most simple and well-known legal rules only reinforce our understanding of the laws and the policies / interests giving rise to them.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that he hasn’t been laid in over 4 years and most people consider him “unstable.”

(ALL OF US=normal words for “really imprtant shit” JIZZY=Really important words for “unimportant shit”)

Professors do not grade papers; graders (another student who has already taken the class and received an A) and teaching assistants (graduate school students) grade papers.
The point of going to university is to free an individual’s mind to think independently, to dig deeper than the surface (question), to solve problems, and to gain knowledge of many topics in an effort to discern the difference between fact and fiction without anyone (including the mass media) telling the individual what, when, and how to think.
During the journey, some of us learn a few things worth remembering from our chosen field of study. Sometimes we actually apply that bit of knowledge in real life after graduation.
The other thing university teaches us is how to put up with and properly handle other people’s bullshit prior to actually having to do it in a professional setting.
If Al wants to shape young minds, let him. I don’t see how he could further deteriorate today’s youth; their minds and basic morals are already beyond the point of no return.
al would have to quit drinking in order to work at any kind of academic facility. possibly the intellect that many of you claim he has would then re-emerge.
in the meantime, i dont think many of us know al well enough personally to really assess his intellectual abilities. meeting him after a gig or during a tour is probably not very representative of what he is capable of, considering the sort of life he leads…
