unless it hits 360 I won’t be playing this. sad, really, II was freaking awesome but I no longer have a computer that can play these type of games.

Are you completely computer-less? From what my friends say, the system requirements aren’t too over the top, so perhaps one could get away with playing on older hardware.

I have xp machines (I’m assuming it won’t work since its 10 years obsolete or it will run really slow) and the little netbook system 7 I do have has a ridculously small screen. So let’s hope it hits 360.

I don’t think the Diablo games hit consoles?

I’m not much of a pc gamer but I’m tempted to pick this up.

I think mine is 1407

I wouldn’t play it just because of the constant fucking internet connection. What an annoyance.

They never have. I understand that microsoft was in negotiations to port either #2 or #3 to over to the 360 but microsoft wanted too much of a cut and since the diablo makers already have their base porting it under those microsoft terms would’ve been counter productive… just what I heard from some geek at the game store a year or 2 back.

Amen.
And I loved the first two games.

agreed…pretty fucked up…I’m enjoying it though.[/reply]

Diablo 1 was released on the ps1. The constant internet connection is a pain, but the game is too good to miss. There is always Torchlight 2.

got it, beat it. meh, very underwhelming for the time they’ve spent on it. not to mention the colossal fuck up they had on the opening night and subsequent day…and the real money auction isn’t even up and running yet! not for another 2 weeks? by then EVERYONE will have beat it several times over…blizzard is fucking retarded.

Launch issues aside, i think it’a great, and I see myself playing co op with my friends for months to come. At LEAST until borderlands 2 hits.

what is this? you have to constantly be online or what? Does it keep kicking you off?

yes, you need a constant internet connection. You can be paying in a “single player” game and have the chance of dropping connection, losing you physical place on the map, but you do not lose stats/items, etc. during the first 48 hours of launch the servers were down for most people, and it became a big thing. blizzard says the connection is to help fight hackers, cheaters/dupers, but it’s just DRM plain and simple, and annoying as fuck at that. after the first few days, though, i have rarely had an issue with the servers, but i understand people frustration/opposition. I personally am not a fan of this form of DRM but it wasn’t nearly this bad on Starcraft 2, which also required constant connection. all in all I fear this is now the nature of the beast, and things on’t go back to how they used to be.

As i pointed out, there is always Torchlight 2 coming soon, which has alot of the members from the diablo 1 & 2 team developing, and has offline and (GASP) LAN support. (how awful that nowadays LAN support is a touted feature) Also it’s only 20 bucks. I will be picking this up as well.

Never played a Diablo. I used to play World of Warcraft, which worked fine up until I reached a certain point and couldn’t play anymore. So I figure my computer probably wouldn’t be able to handle it. Doesn’t look too insane from the pics I saw of it though. That online DRM sounds like BS though.

I’m a bit disappointed with it. It’s really unbalanced in the higher difficulty levels, and the creators admitted they didn’t even thoroughly test it themselves. Auction house basically renders in-game market worthless.

Torchlight 2 looks interesting. If you chip in with others and buy the 4-pack, it works out to $15 per copy. Not bad.

Has anyone ever played Titan Quest? It’s about 6 years old, but I’ve seen it compared to Diablo 2. I’m kind of interested…

Titan Quest is great. I think my favorite Diablo clone was Dungeon Siege 2, but Titan Quest was cool since it was greek mythology and not just the same old fantasy setting.
