That’s not something to brag about.
Especially since I’m in my 40’s.
Calm down and drink some Ensure, you geriatric dimwit.

Back to the actual content-heavy part of the thread prior to years’ intervention:
If you haven’t read it, there’s an awesomely weird book entitled “Elevator Music: A Surreal History of Muzak” in which Mothersbaugh discusses his rationale for doing the “EZ Listening Disc” versions of Devo hits.
Here’s an interesting quote of his:
“Muzak helped me shape my musical politics. When I heard Muzak versions of the Beatles, the Byrds, and the Rolling Stones, my goal was to do the same to my own music before anybody else did […] we were writing Muzak-style versions of our songs before we even had our first album out.”
[reply]but devo still suck’s …
Yeah, your brother has shitty taste in music.
Full blooded retard.[/reply]
He’s just mad cause DEVO never played the White coofin Guitar
^ That’s a relief. I was starting to worry that some of the members might be sand fless.
no just dont think devo is the band to pay for.
have alot of there stuff on lp from my brother . just don’t
think there all that great.
nothing personal.
Yeah, i kinda feel the same way, they have lots of great songs but i’d never buy an album or actually play their stuff myself. My brother’s a fan too. I don’t mind listening to them and don’t dislike them, but i listen ti little enough music already, even the things i love, without playing Devo all the time. Gates of Steel is one of the best songs i’ve ever heard though, absolutely amazing. Hopefully Surgical Meth Machine don’t murder it with their undoubtedly “crazy” cover.
“I’d never buy a Devo album” What?! Perhaps that’s your problem. I think Gerald Casale sunk to an all time low by starting a kickstarter fund for his late brother/bandmates funeral seeing as these guys are fucking loaded. But, you don’t know who he is i bet. Best live video of theirs…

Nope, i don’t know who he is, don’t really care either to be honest. I assume he’s in Devo. There’s plenty of bands that i think are good but who i’d never buy an album by or listen to out of my own choice. I have little enough time to listen to the music i love without spending time listening to bands i think are just “good”. If they’re on, i’ll listen to them, but i don’t play their stuff myself. Too few hours in the day, maybe that’s my problem rather than not being a huge fan of Devo.

Yeah, that’s lame.
It’s one thing for some struggling local bands to rally the troops when a dude has a tragedy or dies or something. But people who are perfectly stabilized and well off asking for others to foot such bills is just bullshit.
A much classier way, is (and many do this as well) . . . “My brother died. If you would like to make a donation to ________ (Heart association, AIDS research, Cancer Society, etc.) in his name, here are links to do so.”
I’m really sick of people abusing their celeb (and quasi-celeb) status to ask people for money just because they don’t want to pay their own bills and deal with the inconveniences of life that everyone else has.

Pretty soon you’re going see famous people standing on corners with cardboard signs. sad.
Just bought the new blu ray called hardcore devo and the 2 L.P. set, probley the best the guys have ever played which is saying a lot.
Both must haves. Must buys.
