Sold more records? Is that how we measure genius these days? What does that say about the “band” that has to finance its videos and albums with Kickstarter donations then? Just curious.
Oh now we’re a “band” eh? Butthole Bloopers can’t hold a candle to Marilyn Manson! Check out this incredible performance:
EDIT: Also I heard Butthole Doodies were the ones who broke Kurt Cobain out of rehab and gave him the bad heroine he was on when he killed himself!! What dirtbags!!
Manson started strong then fell flat after the 90s. Devo had one flat album in their entire career (Smooth Noodle Maps) but the rest are pure gold. Something For Everybody (their newest) is also one of their best.
I was just about to post “You guys do realize Void is fucking with you right?”
There’s a difference between “not getting it” and just simply “not laughing” or “not thinking it’s funny” when someone makes a joke and the tumbleweeds roll past. Often times CRAPPY comedians blame the audience for “not getting” their jokes or style of humor. Fine. But it’s just as likely the audience doesn’t find that SHIT to be that brilliant in the first place.

Mark Mothersbaugh is awesome on Yo Gabba Gabba. Although I keep hoping that show will finally pay off by germinating a Devo/Biz Markie collab. Amirite?
I’m just glad Mothersbaugh has been able to keep the checks rolling in all these years…dude, does a fuckload of soundtrack/tv work…I see his name pop up constantly…

TRUTH!
The only example I can drop off the top of my head was the weird psychedelic tunes on “Liquid Television” back in the day, but I’ll often be watching some goofy kids’ cartoon or a science show or something and be grooving on the intro or outro music and then BOOM “Theme Song by Mark Mothersbaugh”.

Except that people keep reacting like he’s serious. If you just don’t think it’s funny, don’t reply at all. That’s why deadguy rarely gets any bites.

Deadguy is AWESOME!!! He doesn’t need any bites. His jokes WORK. What would I possibly need to say on his posts? LOL, LMFAO, ROFL?
I don’t care how anyone else wants to react to Void. I think the dude is awesome. I also think he’s a bit of a delusional dimwit sometimes, but that’s alright. That’s one of the reasons I love him.
Bob Casale of Devo. Born: July 14th, 1952 . Deceased: February 17th, 2014
As an original member of Devo, Bob Casale was there in the trenches with me from the beginning. He was my level-headed brother, a solid performer and talented audio engineer, always giving more than he got. He was excited about the possibility of Mark Mothersbaugh allowing Devo to play shows again. His sudden death from conditions that lead to heart failure came as a total shock to us all.
