Happened to check the Dessau myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/dessau) and saw that a couple unreleased tracks recently got added. One of these - Seldom Traveled - is from the recording sessions John did with Paul Barker back in 1990. The other - Slow 8 - is a pretty cool instrumental as well. Along with that are notices that he’s planning on re-releasing some of the old stuff along with demos and more Barker material and that he’s playing live in Chicago at the end of March. Why a Nashville band plays their only gigs in years in Chicago, I have no idea. Oh well.
Been following the news on their MySpace and am positively thrilled.
Now if only Elliott would make the trip down to Phoenix…

DESSAU are not playing Chicago, but attending a Darkroom Sunday to hang w/ Bart & Dave from WTII Records.
They are interested in releasing 4 Paul Barker / DESSAU
tracks from a 1990 session here in Nashville. Along with the DESSAU 12" EPs RED LAUGUAGES (produced by Martin Hannett) & HAPPY MOOD, featuring the original version of “Unshakeable”. Plus demos, out-takes & live material.
As to why a Nashville band plays their only gig in years in Chicago???
The Grand Ole Opry was booked.
I have an idea. Well…
Thanks for the info. 1990 stuff…cool.
