Recent show with DM promoting their new album:

They sound pretty good 35 years into it. I’ve seen a lot of comments from angry fans who feel DM have completely turned their back on their pre-1990 music catalog.
I thought Dave Gahan already had his Al Jourgensen moment in 1993 when he denounced synth pop, grew his beard out, and said he wanted to be a rock god (and nearly died in the process.)
Didn’t Ministry open for DM in 82 or 83? What an excellent show that would have been. “A Broken Frame” is an underrated album.
Live this band and seeing them live is essential before you die…
I really need to see Depeche Mode, they’re one of my all time favorite band and I’ve never seen them live.

Yep, it was sometime in Summer of 82. I don’t know the exact date. They were promoting A Broken Frame. I’d imagine Ministry played something along the lines of the Detroit 82 songs.
Agreed, A Broken Frame is killer. The Sun & The Rainfall is such a great track. Also that synth line in My Secret Garden is too cool, wish I could play it.
Parliament/Funkadelic put a much better show. just saying.
