Yeah that sit sucks.
very sad. [mad]
Supposedly the tracker’s still working, but I left a download up all night that was at 98.7%, and it never finished. Maybe there just weren’t any seeders.
Hope they come back, I had a good ratio there.

I wouldn’t go too nuts, it was down a few months ago too. It’s not like they were raided, a la OiNk.
Arrrrgghhhhh how shithouse.
I used it to torrent lossless live shows.
Now where!?

try dimeadozen, although it can be difficult at time to get a registry
Auuug, terrible news. That site was one of the best. Boooo.
Was probably one of two of the only torrent sites I ever use(d) ever. I’ll stick with soulseek though. Only used demonoid when things leaked, and didn’t have the patience to wait for a legit copy to show up on slsk. Way it’s looking, torrents may die on us in the next year or so; which is a real shame. But there’s only so long you can stick it until the lawman finally shafts you down.
I’m still surprised there isn’t anything (or to my knowledge) where you just pay such amount a year and download whatever you want, when you want. That would probably solve a lot, if not everything right there. That way the bands get paid at least something and the people will get what they want. Of course though, it’s all sketchy, but I know something could be possible.
It looks pretty final… we’ll see.
I dont think they could get rid of torrents altogether.
The one thing I got annoyed about was the fact that the “nights of nothing” rips had just gone up there and before I got them the site.
All good I found them elsewhere, cannot believe those mothers went for $805US on ebay!!! [shocked]
Can’t wait to see them though.
Demonoid was great though, good descriptions on torrents, you actually knew what you were getting! Lol, some of these other sites require a bit of guess work.
If torrents do go the way of the dinosaur… what other options do we have? Guess I’ll have to learn how to use DC++ or usenet again, lol.
The way the raids are looking, torrent sites are going to be fewer and fewer in numbers. Oink and Demonoid seem like they were both huge blows to the bit-torrent “communities”. With the raids/allegations to likely continue, it’s only going to become more difficult as this progresses.
From what I’ve read it’s likely demonoid may come back.
Although it’s possible Deimos may just scratch the entire idea.
I still use usenet on occasion.[angelic] Running out of HDD space though.
