I don’t know if any are coming to Chicago for the last few Ministry gigs (I’m not going) but try to drop by for sure. It won’t be industrial, etc - more like mstrkrft, justice, digitalism, daft punk, iamx, cut copy, boys noise, etc, etc. Dance club…
This night went really well and people there enjoyed a lot. I didn’t write down the set list but some of the stuff played included Jesu’s Wash It All Away, Lead Into Gold, Aphex Twin, Mstrkrft, Bowie and ended the set on Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean (don’t care what anyone says - this track gets the dancefloor busy and mixing it from Mstrkrft was tricky but was pulled off well ).
Highlight of the night was seeing prongs member 23 (Al) who had come up from Florida for the Ministry shows. He showed up and we chilled for a bit - great guy.
i always thought he (Bowie) ripped off Alice Cooper a little bit with the whole Ziggy Stardust thing. That aside, there are plenty of gems in his discography to forgive him that. (lots of duds too, but I was never a hardcore fan so I had no problems simply ignoring their existence [:)])
Bowie never ripped off Alice Cooper, they both came from very different places, but with make up
No need to make it into a big deal but this webpage (http://www.sickthingsuk.co.uk/people/p-bowie.php) is indication that there is at least some level of discussion about this issue. Admittedly, this was so long ago nobody should really care anymore. I happen to be a big AC fan so I thought I’d mention it in the first place.
i agree with senor connelly, esp. the makeup note. love both alice and bowie and god help me, i never dragged myself to see either(granted part of the reason was i was too young–in body)
