Doesn’t the tone of McCain’s voice sound like even he doesn’t believe himself?
if i talk in a hi whisper maybe , just maybe, they will belive me…
His voice is really shaky too. Is he going to cry?

McCain sounds nervous. Could they repeat themselves more often.
“my friends,”
I think was uttered everytime McCain had to lie, Or didn’t know what to say… it got annoying.
Glad Obama pulled his punk card with that whole bomb iran B.S. as well as other nations McCain has publicaly stated we need to attack.
McCain dropped the ball HUGE on healthcare!

You notice that Repubs try to make a Liberal into a dirty word?
Obama the MOST LIBERAL record in the senate…
that’s the same bullshit they ran on John Kerry…Which one is the most liberal? It can’t be both of them! Or is any of it even true? is neither of them the most liberal? Does it Matter? Do they just say this shit and hope it sticks, or that no one will remember?

I’d love to catch all these debates. I’ll have to check youtube.
my favorite moment was when mccain looking all shakey (as usual) started talking about an energy bill which he thinks had too many perks for lobbyists or some shit like that–btw, his campaign is RUN by lobbyists!–and he asked rhetorically, “who voted for this bill?” then he turned around and pointed to obama and said, “That one.”
that one? what? that little black sambo over there? was it impossible to bring himself to say “senator obama?”
wow. i jumped out of my chair and yelled .
mccain’s so disdainful of obama b/c he’s black and he’s young. mccain’s only interaction with black and young in his long white past is probably saying, “boy, go fetch me my car.”

“That one”???
OH, WOW.
What struck me as condescending was when Mccain spoke to the one young black male and said ’ you probably didn’t know who Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac were before this.’

Maybe it’s me being biased but I’m pretty sure that if McCain could’ve gotten away with it, he would’ve said “This nigger, signed a Bush/Cheney energy bill that fucked all americans- Only I, the truely wise, didn’t sign it and kept you all safe”
Man, Toot, if you can catch these debates somewhere I suggest you do. I’d love to hear an outsiders views on McCains tone of voice as well as what kind of expected carreer length somebody like these two would have in your country.
Anybody else outside of the US on this board feel free to chime in, I think Olsen, Peligro and Gila are not currently residing in the US, If you’ve seen these debates please post on how either of these two would be receieved in Russia or Australia were they running for office in your country.

I honestly think that the use of “you” was more of a generalization towards the public, rather than specifically towards the guy asking the question. But even still, poor timing combined with poor word choice does not do well for McCain.

mccain needs to get a grip, king smurf.
right. you know he wanted to say “nigger” and this was the extent of his restraint–“that one”. if anybody disputes his racism i will challenge.
guess i’ll get back to some solace–“why i am not a painter”, a poem by frank o’hara. which is funny and illuminates the differences between the various disciplines in art, and how they are connected, ultimately.
okay. my homo thought for the day, about a homo poet, who actually kicked ass.

I can see what you mean by that Grmpy, but it still just came off as sort of condescending to me. My girlfriend, who is black btw, had a much more violent reaction [:)]
“Oh no he din’t!”
I think the “that one” remark is more a lack of respect than outright racism (but of course racism could be a part of the lack of respect.) McCain’s just jealous that there are probably millions of women who’d like to knock boots with Obama while McCain?.. Its JFK v. Nixon all over again.
If Obama was on the ball he could have reiterated McCain’s “that one” remark to make sure people would make an issue out of McCains derision, when he talked next. (Maybe he did, I didnt see what happened after.) At least its getting views on youtube.
