so ok, im sure some peopel here hate them, and im sure that more peopel havent heard of them.
but i LOVE these guys, and i think they are among the best bands i have ever heard. their major lable debut, “Commencement” is my fave album of all time…
so what do you guys think of them?
I like them. They were very similar to Orgy, who I also thought were an awesome flash in the pan in the late 90’s. Isn’t the singer Cher’s son?
The album ‘Candyass’ is seriously a good Industrial Rock album. Both of these bands are easily written off by the typical hater elitist crowd.

yes the singer is elijah blue, son of cher and greg allman.
but i think he is a fucking mastermind. the music he has made so far is among the best i have ever heard.
i’d think some industrial/avant fans here would dig them.

I haven’t listened to Deadsy but I really like the first Orgy album. IMO, USSA sounded like a mediocre rock version of them.

it isnt as strange and ENO-esque as the older stuff, but i love it none the less.
Elijah’s solo album should be coming out this year, it will be him withthe sales brothers (the guys from tin machine with bowie, and yes, soupy’s sons) and will sound like a mix of bowie lou reed, and t-rex.

Replace “mediocre” with “fucking awesome” and our initial impressions would have been the same.[laugh]
I remember a Deadsy song from the napster days, was a fake labelled as Manson featuring Korn. Was ok, even if it did sound like a terrible manson song. I have a feeling I heard a song of theirs a few years back was a bit more polished and sounded ok… don’t know why I just can’t get into that kind of stuff anymore. Some of my tastes would indicate I should be jumping up and down with excitement!
Candyass was the only Orgy cd I had, wasn’t bad, only listened to it a few times though about 4 years ago, was one of the few cd’s unlucky enough to be sold to buy drugs. Actually to buy petrol because I used my petrol money to buy drugs, lol! Then I felt dirty because I hocked stuff to do that. Although it was only like 6 cds and the rest were mostly duplicates from when I moved in with my partner, that was all I could part with out of around 300 cds… so maybe I didn’t like it that much heh.
