Hand picked by himself and no Mulholland Drive? Ah no it seems he’s concentrating on pre FWWM stuff so I’d presume a different comp some time in the future which would feature more recent works.
This collection seems a worthy purchase; enough incentives to pick it up even if you have some of the films on dvd already (though I only have Eraserhead and Elephant Man on dvd). The inclusion of the Eraserhead soundtrack is very tempting. I was going to pick up the short films on dvd which can be purchased for $/€ 20-30 but I might wait a while, save up and get this collection when its more affordable.
Cool.
Arg, I own everything in this collection but find myself tempted to pick it up for the mystery disc and the possibility of extras on some of the films. Wild at Heart was apparently heavily cut to avoid an X at the time, I wonder if he’s finally going to show some of those extras. It’d be cool to see Industrial SymphonyNo. 1 on dvd as well.
he’s got this wonderful little book out called “Catching the big fish” where he talks about art and meditation and various things in little few paragraph per page bursts… it definately gave more insisght into him as a person and how he ticks
