I never said I was against taxes. You read and see what you want to. I’m against raising taxes. I’m not even against the Bush cuts expiring.
I don’t understand… Bush Tax cuts expiring would be taxes being raised. You know that right? But you said more than once, you are against raising taxes. I’m not bullying you here, I just don’t understand, your statements don’t make sense. What is “taxes being raised” mean to you? To me, it means returning the taxes back to where they were before W cut them because then they would be higher than they are now.
What I am against is this mentality that rich people owe people who sit around and do nothing.
Well, who isn’t against that? I’ve said time and time again normal people are getting screwed over by the rich, not “Help those poor lazy fuckers!!” The rich are becoming too powerful. That’s not because people are too lazy, it’s because the playing field is [strike]tipped[/strike] slanted in their favor. I’m all for welfare reform it’s needed, it’s over due. (Hell, let’s start drug testing government service recipients, how about local community services in order to get your check? Graffiti removal, Pot hole filling? Etc etc.) But what is going on right now isn’t people sitting around doing nothing thinking the rich owe them.
I did benefit from a state sponsored scholarship program. I never claimed otherwise.

Now, granted you did something with the opportunity that was afforded to you but the current problem is that with the continuing and current tax cuts, you are going to be the last of your kind… there will be no more opportunities, and folks like your family are going to be more frequent and have to suck it up and be told they aren’t working hard enough. It’s not right or accurate.
As far as taxes and expenses go, you aren’t factoring in self employment tax

What are you mad at me for? You have two cars and a solid job, steady income you are able to make it, slowly but your making it. You are in that middle class bracket. Granted, you’re higher up there but your still middle class. You too are getting fucked by the upper-class. When I call for higher taxes I just mean a return to where it was when the country was prosperous in the 90s.because you are still struggling you are obviously not wealthy… you need that tax break more than some millionaire and when you gain that wealthy status that’s when you need to start giving more back… granted you are not as bad off as many right now but my point is this and has always been… when the rich continue to get tax breaks, when it is clearly not in the best interest of the country, we all suffer.
I obviously don’t know you exact finances. But what I mean about living outside your means is this… is your wife driving a jaguar or a kia? Is your kid wearing baby gap or no name brand… My worldview is skewed by what I see around me. The only name brand shit my kid will be wearing will be whatever family members buy him, other than that no name brand is fine. My wife and I both drive cars but our combined car total is not more than 25,000. We live below our means.
LOL. I regularly put in 70 hours a week for my work. Your buddies mom probably does work harder than you ever will. That doesn’t surprise me. It must be nice to have the summer off every year.
70 hours on your feet? I doubt it. She did that often. I don’t have summers off. I work summer school. And I quite frequently push for year round school. You could have summers off as well. With your degree you could be teaching too. So, I’m not quite sure where you’re going with this… So, I guess it’s time for you to pat yourself on the back for not choosing teaching. What are you looking for here?
Btw way teachers don’t get a check in the summer time, so it’s not really like they have summers “off” but you already knew that and were trying to be crafty and play to the “lazy angle.” Shame on you.
Working is different that sitting at home drawing unemployment. How you don’t understand that makes no sense to me.
Granted…but what are you to do when you can’t get a job. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve been told “no thank you we aren’t hiring” (which is the country’s main problem now -even worse companies are laying people off) or “sorry you’re over qualified,” and that was back when the economy was “ok”.
It’s not like people are collecting unemployment because they have just decided not to work. There’s no money in the economy because the wealth is being sucked upward and horded…

Well up until you’d explained yourself it seemed as though you were pushing their agenda. When you come at me with their talking points it’s hard to tell. “No new taxes is the mantra of the pubs”
I understand there are people who work hard that are struggling. I wish the best for those people and hope their hard work pays off.
So you are admitting that “hard work” isn’t the guaranteed fix all that keeps being uttered like magic words? And that’s all I’m saying.

Well, no shit! But that isn’t the bulk of people right now. That’s never the bulk of people that collect from government services. Yes, there are those that abuse the system but why fuck it up and shut the whole system down for the majority that doesn’t? Just kick those off when they are caught. See? Btw those types of people can’t draw unemployment anyway ‘cause they need a job first.
