Holy crap that is horrible! Is Helloween sponsored by Funyuns or something?[/reply]

this artwork is really making me laugh. is this some generic 80s metal band? I can’t stop laughing at their name

[reply]I’m not having much luck finding album covers from Cleopatra. I’ve only seen stuff for samplers and tributes for other bands and none of those were bad to me.

I don’t know.
I haven’t followed them for a long time, but I thought it was pretty much Prongs lexicon nowadays following Undercover, Greatest Tricks, and whatever other crap they put out for Ministry. CLEOPATRA = DOO DOO.[/reply]

I’d still take Cross Purposes over any of those Ministry albums any day.

The Residents are often guilty of lazy or just plain ugly cover art:

Oh and how can we have an Awful Album Artwork thread and forget these bozos…:

Sabbath had quite a run of bad album covers (as well as some floating turds of material as well) following “Born Again” (which, by the way, is awesome and anyone that disagrees is wrong).

Born Again’s shitty production does it no favors. And that Hughes fellow just doesn’t cut the mustard as a Sabbath frontman.

Headless Cross and Heaven and Hell are the two best post Ozzy albums. Easily.

Also, the Eternal Idol’s artwork is ten tonnes of awesome.

An even worse Pantera album cover:

Here’s some crappy Cleopatra covers.
Actually looking like something identifiable was not a priority:

Nor was having anything at all to do with the album itself. Why is Gollum on this record cover?

Can you tell this one came out in the '90s?

And Cross Purposes is better than every single one of them.

Uhh yeah. This would be laughed onto the cutting room floor for an amateur band.

Yeah,Dance of Death was by far the worst Maiden cover…by a landslide…even worse than the Blaze bayley era ones…wretched…

Wiki: “The computer-generated cover art was provided by David Patchett,[9] who allegedly asked for his name to be removed from the album’s credits after the band decided to use an unfinished version,[10] which was received negatively.[11]”

The way that baby is standing on the dog…I mean, wow…

I’ve not looked at that one in a long time as I only have the disc in my car and not the case (I love the album, though) but, yeah, that is a real steamer.

The last one was pretty weak too (“Final Frontier”) and “Ed Hunter” (perhaps it doesn’t qualify as an official album cover) is also dreadful.

And since we’re on the topic of bad Sabbath covers.

I seem to recall reading somewhere, (maybe in one of Ozzy’s books) that they showed up to the cover shoot for Sabotage not knowing it was shoot day. Bill had nothing good to wear, so Ozzy gave him his red leggings. Which is why Ozzy is wearing that cloak thing, to cover his legs.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
I’d not heard THAT part of the story, but it is believable . . . and one more reason that it is actually an AWESOME cover and not crappy at all.
