Cover Up vinyl

Night Of The Vinyl Dead just released Cover Up in an edition of 400 copies on yellow vinyl.

This is the same label that released The Last Sucker on vinyl a while back. Did anyone pick that one up? I’m curious on the sound quality.

What? Do they just pay a licensing fee to put out whatever crap doesn’t naturally go to vinyl anyway?

Oh, wow! One of Ministry’s crappier albums is now . . . . bigger.

I’m not a vinyl collector anyway, but I think this is sort of dumb anyway.

As much as I wanna say who cares, I know someone on this board will collect it.

I bought two copies - one to shit on, and one to cover it up with.

1002

HAHAHA!!!

Still an album I haven’t bothered to track down and waste my time on, five years after the fact.

Rapeman and Melvins both do solid covers of “Just Got Paid” and “Black Betty” respectively. I can’t unhear KMFDM’s early bizarro take on “Bang a Gong” either, rendering the straight laced tinnitus drum machine hell of Ministrys pointless. “Under My Thumb” is a great song but c’mon.

“Under My Thumb” and “Wonderful World” are both pretty cool and interesting. Most of the other tracks are lame . . . . “Hey, let’s cover ____ but do it super fast and gnarly!? Yaaaayyyy!!!” BBBOOOOOORRRRIIINNGG!!!

That was the fastest I’ve ever gotten rid of an album I actually bought. I maybe listened to it twice. Maybe. Sold it to Amoeba and probably got a buck for it.

The couple of tracks with Josh Bradford are fair.
The rest…
Yeah…

I enjoyed it well enough, some of it’s terrible, some of it’s fun. Not being a vinyl man, though, i’m wondering if having an LP of it will make any difference to the shitty, tinny production?

What? Do they just pay a licensing fee to put out whatever crap doesn’t naturally go to vinyl anyway?

I’m not really sure. The two they have put out were both Thirteenth Planet releases, so they may have paid a flat fee to do a limited run on each.

The cover albums are certainly at the bottom of my list, but I’m a vinyl junkie and a completist, so I will add these to the collection at some point.

Wait a minute. Didn’t Cover Up already get released on vinyl under the name Undercover?

i REALLY liked the ‘Under My Thumb’ cover. a lot.

the rest was pretty give or take, mishmashy stuff. i mean, Radar Love is just ALWAYS a groovy song, no matter what, so that one was pretty fun too.

but no, i wont be buying it on vinyl. haha. i will save that money for… well… anything else. maybe i’ll buy some pasta.
