Maybe Al could surprise everyone and give us a decent Lard album to wrap things up??? Just putting it out there ma honky’s![cool]
Well for lard, he’d have Jello carrying him…
he said something about a final lard album…
but again, i must say, i have loved the last three albums… they are like Prong meets ministry…
that being said… i would LOVE to hear something like so what again…
i really dont like victor’s riffs that are on RGB and on TLS to some extent. they are full of artificial harmonics which sound kinda dumb and cheesy and out of place.

I’m not white, cracker. [:)]
But new Lard would totally kick ass.
Focus that thrash into something delightfully irrelevant.

Prong used to be really quite good in the early days, particularly when Ted Parsons was in the band. The last few releases were almost as horrible as Ministry’s last 3 disks.
Victor and Jourgensen simply don’t make good music together.[/reply]
ah… well i dissagree. haha. i think prong has gotten better… but hey, whatever
I thought I’d take a chance with this one, Listened to it in my car yesterday on the way to work. Dissapointed. I’ve been sticking up for Ministry/Al up to RGB (the few songs I’ve heard I liked)… but TLS and this do seem pretty [crazy]
Bang a gong was ok… pretty dissapointed with Radar love, space truckin was horrible and how on earth can ANYONE RUIN Black Betty for Jiminys sake.
Anyone heard the Spiderbait version. Some aussie no-bodies (well afaik no-bodies out side of australia anyway) can kick Al’s ass.
I haven’t heard the original (leadbelly right?) probably pretty different.
WHY WHY WHY is there like 3 versions of it’s a wonderful world on there? Does al think its funny?
How did I guess… starts off all slow then kicks in with a speed metal version… ugh, he should have done a metal cover of britney spears like the other “cool and funny” metal bands do. That would have ROCKED. [crazy] … anyway… yes slightly dissapointed this time around.
Lay lady lay was an awesome cover though! oh wait…
No matter what…It’s still better than The Last Sucker.
And Bang a Gong would fit perfectly on the Bile Covers Comp.

one is the piano version, other is “punk” version
3rd one is obviously combination of the two
maybe they haven’t decieded yet which one to use
this is a promo anyway but i think the retail release will contain same shit
i’d prefer two separate versions (if ever), so 3rd one is especially redundant.

agreed.

They played the hell out of that in Atlanta for awhile. I wondered why Al was doing it when it 's just been done.
The Spiderbait version is fantastic. Their original stuff is pap but that cover’s great.
I’ve always thought of it as a cross between a Primus and mid - late 90’s Ministry kind of sound and been looking forward to hearing how the Ministry version matches up to it.
They used to play the Ram Jam version of Black Betty before all UNH Hockey team home games. Then people got all pissy about it, and they had to stop.
Spiderbait’s version is pretty good however. Al’s is a distant 4th.

no they didnt.
joey did.
jerry from the misfits played bass on the track too!
I gave about half the songs a listen last night…
Weren’t you the guy on the Piss Army Admonishing people for downloading Music before it’s released?? (or was that just to score favor with Angie?) I’m pretty sure it was you. Funny how you turned coat in this instance.

‘Cover Up’ - biggest turd of '08 ?

At 346 Courics.
A cover up! What is new? Corruption! You’ve been screwed!!!
Downloading music is a good thing.
Good promotion for artists.
Good for the buyer…i.e if we like it we’ll buy the material product.
OK, so I finally broke down and picked up “Cover Up” (I got tired of waiting for eMusic to get it). I like the first three songs and also enjoy “What a Wonderful World”. The rest of it is not very good. Would have made a good E.P.
“Under My Thumb” and “Radar Love” are definitely the highlights for me. Both are pretty cool covers.
