Connelly looks back on musical madness of RevCo, Ministry

In today’s Chicago Tribune

—At considerable risk to his health and sanity, Chris Connelly signed up for a stint in Al Jourgensen’s musical circus just as Ministry and the Revolting Cocks were taking off two decades ago. At the time, Connelly was barely in his 20s, fresh off a plane from Scotland, and ready for anything. He entered a round-the-clock bacchanal: three-day parties that morphed into recording sessions and back again, fueled by drugs, alcohol and aggression. Jourgensen spun off the results into myriad bands, including Ministry, the Cocks, Pailhead and Lard.

Jourgensen could probably relate. In 1991 he described one of the Cocks’ road shows as “the Caligula tour … fiddling while Rome burns.”—

That last bit is one of Al’s more beguiling mixed metaphors.

EDIT: Perhaps he meant ‘diddling’. That would make more sense. [;)]

Very cool, thanks for posting. I would think Chris is happy that his book is getting some pub in the Tribune.

Is tonight’s gig acoustic, or a full band? Anyone here going?
