I saw them last night and now my neck is sore from doing the super hard core head bob. Great show. Somewhat repetitive but a great show.
Combichrist sucks. Derivative nonsense.
Yeah i dont take them seriously, but good if you feel like blasting something on the stereo.
It’s nothing to be taken seriously. It’s fun music that you can play and listen to in the background. Actually listened to them tonight at work, and sometimes when I play games. There’s no lyrical value to it at all, but there’s a catchyness, and a certain fun element to it as well.
An interesting side note for this group is that Combichrist took that “I’d like to thank my buddies” lyric from the Skatenigs’ “Chemical Imbalance” track.
I hadn’t listened to that Skatenigs single since High School, so I didn’t catch the lift when I first heard Combi. It was only later when I got into emusic and had some downloads to burn that I heard the 'Nigs again. “Chemical Imbalance” is actually a really good song, it is a lot more like vintage Ministry stuff than I’d remembered it.
“Stupid People Shouldn’t Breed” is kind of a lost Luxa/Pan (or was it just Luxa?) classic. It rarely gets mentioned alongside alongside all the other stuff that was going on at the time, but it damn well should.

Don’t let Connelly hear that. haha. He didn’t have much good to say about Owens or Skatenigs in his book. I was actually taken aback by some of the comments. I guess you had to be there (meaning, I am sure Connelly has his reason, I just don’t know them).[/reply]
funny you should mention that part of the book. ijust got the revco cocked and loaded cd and actually saw what phildo looks like and couldn’t help but put the picture with chris’ story and words…
I will be bringing my girlfriend to a show of theirs in NYC around Valentine’s Day. I dislike the harsh techno that people are calling “Industrial” kind of music and the mindless vocals, but I’m sure the show will be better than a lot of things she could be dragging me to.
When you compare them to Blue Man, is it because they have like an interactive show where the crowd gets sprayed etc? Because that would be fun…
Combichrist? That shit will fuck you up.
Black light burns is openinbg up on this tour… wes borland from limp bizkit’s new band

Try having yr girlfriend make you suffer through Story Of The Year, Hoobastank, and all of these other rich-kid poseur bands you have no interest in seeing or hearing.
That’s what girlfriends are for! (shoots himself in the mouth)
I’ve seen Combichrist live twice.
They are very different beast live. Their albums don’t do justice to the power of their live show.
I never liked them until I saw them live.
Not to drag up old threads, but here are some pics of Combichrist and Gen from the last night of the tour: 3 July 2009, Club Firestone, Orlando, FL

Side note: The club had the promo flyer for Revco’s Lubricatour projected up on the wall above the bar (no date on it yet): Jim Rose Circus, Blownload, and Left Spine Down are listed. The promo flyer for Jim Rose Circus was also projected up and had “Lubricatour” printed on it.

I completely agree. Only reason I started listening to them was after seeing them open for KMFDM. They stole the show.

Combichrist are fun, they’re sort of the Revco of the current EBM scene. Plus, they use lyrics from Skatenig’s “Chemical Imbalance” on “I’d Like To Thank My Buddies”. Who else is referencing the Nigs for God’s sake??
RevCo!? More like the manson of the ebm scene, but in a good way cause I’m guilty of liking some Combichrist.
