I’ll be in Chicago for the Saturday show!
[reply]I ended up in Lincoln Park.
Thats nothing to be ashamed of. Theyre a pretty successful band[/reply]
But in the end it doesn’t even matter.

But that’s Only if you’ve tried so hard and got so far

Have fun!
I have some video of Cubanate and <PIG>.
I’ll see if I can get you guys a link.
Check out Vampyre Anvil and Dead when I Found Her.
I was on the rail at center stage during Cubanate, <PIG>, and The Cocks and got hit hard in the back of my head by a crowd surfer’s ass as they got passed over the rail. Popped my lower neck/upper back.
Met some new people and reconnected with other people.
Met Chris C., Richard 23, and Julia Nash.
Chatted with Julia about Monumentary.
Ended up with a raging case of bronchitis when I arrived back to FL.
Wouldn’t change anything. :-p
Awesome. Thanks for the info. I had a blast watching the cocks in san fran.
Is Monumentary the WaxTrax 33-1/3 documentary? If so, what’s up with that?
It is the Wax Trax! documentary.
A Legal battle is over; release set for early 2017.
There is a thread dedicated to it…

Oh ok, I knew about that. I was wondering whatever happened to the video of the Retrospectacle even we attended a few years back. Maybe they scrapped it.[/reply]
Maybe she decided to go bigger with Monumentary and included a segment on Retrospectacle?
It was so good. Agreed w Mooney. Ice/Jesse was there and should add his two cents!

Verbatim from Facebook, with edits where need be, forgive the thread necro:
Best act of CWV: Cocks by a long shot. My body and brain could not handle.
Runners up: Cubanate, The Black Queen
Best pit: 16volt
Best KMFDM set: PIG. I wasn’t thrilled with them, honestly, despite having both Schulz and Esch on stage, and I think the reason was that they did basically more of the NIHIL album than any actual PIG stuff hahahahah
Set I’m super bummed I barely missed: Kanga
Heaviest band: Three way tie between Hide, Chant, and Bloody Knives
Most drummers: Jesus, man, is everyone in Chant a drummer or what, my God
Biggest disappointment: Honestly, Meat Beat Manifesto. I mean, it was still cool, but it was less a performance and more like an iPad/YouTube session over a thunderous PA system. Clock DVA wasn’t much better, but like all of MBM’s visuals had YouTube watermarks on it for Christ’s sake.
Biggest surprise: Regular people, I’m talking like Abercrombie and Fitch people, getting the fuck down during Black Asteroid
Best frontman/woman: Definitely Luc Van Acker, but Connelly killed it with his epic jokes and the frontwoman of Hide may be actually a demon.
Friends met and made: Holy shit.
Goodest Samaritan: Adam at the Metro bar and Sean Joyce, who was the homie and let me sell a couple records back to the Wax Trax store when my bank locked my card.
Craziest circumstance: Being repeatedly asked for coke in the Smart Bar
Runner up: Being on a train with no one else but a freakishly tall and burly man dressed like Marilyn Monroe and a homeless guy who I believe was jacking off but may have just been scratching himself for fifteen straight minutes
Amount of times a hellatiously drunk woman groped me while I was wearing my horse mask: Dude she wouldn’t leave me alone hahaha, all in good fun I guess. I guess as far as the dream goes of doing the do in a horse mask, I guess I’m at third base?
Amount of people I prolly pissed off this whole weekend: Apparently all of Feisbuk and prolly a few in real life. Facebook Live had just become a thing and I livestreamed about the whole damn show and my adventures in Chiberia, which basically fucked me over on data overages.
How much I owe Verizon: I went hella over on data, but thankfully had the foresight to upgrade my plan after coming back home, so I “only” forked over 250 or so, Goddamn.
How much sleep I got: ahahaha that’s a good one
Regrets: Fucking none.
CWV was less of a bombastic assault on the senses than IV was, but was a ton of fun regardless, and certainly had the craziest misadventures. Caught up with Mooney and my boy JLW, met acid cripple, met a bunch of people from the PA and a whole ton of peeps from a few other web groups and such, made a grip of new friends in the process.
The entire Star Wars series was on TNT during my downtime, and my hotel had a badass tavern in it, so I ate hella kickass food and got insanely hammered watching Hayden Sister Christian get all hurt being a Jedi between fest hours. Pretty fucking stellar experience, all around.
Got a sick photo with Connelly and JLW, also got to chat with Julia Nash and got a photo with her, too. I broke my wrist before the fest so in the photo I’m concentrating really hard to not drop my phone, so it just looks like I’m hugging her and biting my lip in a very “dat ass” kinda way. It’s pretty awful, but she’s a badass lady and runs one hell of a record label.
I kicked it with Eric Powell of 16 Volt and he rules.
The trips to and from Chicago were awful because I look Middle Eastern, have a Mexican name with too many vowels, and speak with a New England accent.
Can’t wait to (hopefully) do it again.
Nice write up.
Yeah, CW Weekend is always crazy. This was only my 2nd time, but barring a bad line up, I think I’m going to make the trip every year.
It’s just such a good time.
