Caught up a bit with Zick, Afra, and Catgoat.
Met Ice and JLW.
So did anybody get the setlist for Lead Into Gold? So far I’ve seen vids of Faster Than Light and Age Of Reason. Curious what else got dusted off.
FLA looks like full band.
I tried finding some youtube clips of the event and all the bands I had only had a couple people on stage which seemed kind of lame. Did any of them bring a full band and put on a decent show?
Sounds like none of them really had anything resembling a complete band. I heard everyone went apeshit for PWEI as the had a real live drummer.
I wasn’t inside for FLA (I’ve seen them twice before - 2006 w/ Dj? Acucrack and 2014 with Skinny Puppy).
PWEI was a full band.
Paul was on guitar (it was pink) and the woman on bass.
PWEI?
Pop Will Eat Itself.
It was a big deal that they made the trip over to play this fest.
Confirmed in someone else’s pics that FLA had live drums too.
Will need the laptop to post the photo album link.

The trip was worth it just to see them alone play live.
LiG was tight. Setlist was, IIRC:
Age of Reason
Unreason
Couple off Low and Slow
Giant on Earth
Fell From Heaven
One more i cant remember
Faster than Light
Epic as the LiG set was, Godflesh totally stole the first night. I went apeshit in the pit, and raged even harder when after screaming Crush My Soul lyrics the whole night, they played it and everyone thrust be back in the pit.
Highlight of day two, and in my opinion the whole weekend, was Severed Heads. Biggest letdown was Rorschach Test cancelling. I happened to get very sick right at the end of FLA due to forgetting to eat (I’m hypoglycemic) so i had to bail super early. Still a bit messed up but a super cool hotel staff and a super badass pizzeria are doing wonders.
Shoutouts to everyone i met, the staff of Metro/Gman (especially the guy feeding me cherries and lemons as my head split right in half and myblood sugar plummeted), the super helpful people offering directions and advice, and Wax Trax/Storming the Base for ensuring I live on the dollar menu the restt of my life.
Sorry about spelling mistakes. Im on my phone en route to o’hare and i hate not having a keyboard.
It also appears that Rorschach Test didn’t show. Anybody have any more details? I was curious to see what their show was like.

Damnit. Really wanted to see them live again. Glad they were well received.
First off - what a whirlwind of a weekend! I’m really sorry I didn’t get a chance to meet up with any prongers =( It was the type of weekend where I’m getting pulled into a million different directions and I had a ton of friends in Chicago that I was trying to catch up with…
ANYWAYS.
I’m hearing Rorschach Test literally broke up the day before the festival! Sad! They couldn’t get it together enough to do one last show.
Godflesh was amazing. Lab Report was awesome. FLA was great. PWEI was fucking nuts. Cocksure was terrific - the new tracks from Corporate Sting sounded great live… and they played my favorite B-side =)
I’m at work now and trying to recoup.

This sound exactly like the issues that have plagued this band since 2001. Sad, because I always liked them and thought they were pretty original.
Paul played all the Lead Into Gold hits and Justin wooed everyone with his smooth rhythms. Prurient was full of beans and Lustmord was himself. My neck is still stiff from Friday night.
Was a stellar weekend and great to meet the prongs people here, again or for the first time.
Every shirt I picked up also fits SUPER nicely. I’m all ribcage and arms with a wildly fluctuating Transformer of a gut and my torso is way too long. These shirts and the Retrospectacle shirt are the only ones that fit me comfortably without having to go up a size and be wearing a tent.
These shirts are a must for Silent Hill creatures like me [:)]
Underrated set: Holy hell, Lab Report. They were flinging new CDs to the crowd. I happened to find an abandoned copy at the bar, so I simply put a fiver on the bar and snagged it, lol
Cold Waves V: Sept 23 + 24 (2016)
