Cold Waves LA

Not Breathing played Cold Waves V last year.

Yeah, I pumped for the whole line up. I’m a little surprised that Stabbing Westward headlines over FLA, but I was never a fan. And while I’m not the biggest MC 900ft Jesus fan, I never thought I’d see him live.

So I’m into it. Already got my 2 day passes.

MC 900 ft Jesus is from Dallas. He did his first gig in like 20 years a couple of months ago. Doing another couple of gigs here soon. Can’t remember when. He’s been living regular dude life for a while. Like a UPS driver or something.

MC 900 Ft is playing the day before CW6 here in Chicago. Can’t wait, I’m going.

MBM was not as fun this year as the previous times I’ve seen them, BUT - if you’re a first timer to his set you will have a good time.

As for RevCo…no one should miss them. Acid and I saw them and they tore the stage’s ass off last year.

Excited by finally getting to see RevCo with the proper line-up. Couldn’t care less about MBM or MC900ft Jesus I don’t have a clue why they are so popular within the industrial scene at least (much less on a Cold Wave bill). I mean I know MBM had like 1 album that landed in the ball park or something. Checked out CRASH COURSE IN SCIENCE & BOY HARSHER on BandCamp and these are worth checking out! Does Stabbing Westward actually have that many fans to headline over FLA? I thought they were one of the many NIN clones from the early 90’s that had a decent song on “The Crow” soundtrack and that was the end of it. Rumor has it the WaxTrax documentary will be shown on Thursday, or maybe I’m just starting that rumor.

Wow not a lot of love for Meat Beat around here…admittedly I don’t know where they fit on an "industrial " bill if you wanna get picky…always thought of them as more of an electronic dub project with element of techno and hip hop beats…all semantics…every time I have seen them it has been a thundering experience…they are the band along with Revco and FLA that would be the draw for me…

Could never stand Stabbing Westward…2nd be like their studio output and I saw them once at a free concert and they sucked elephant balls…not a fan

It’s an odd lineup. Why aren’t LA locals 3Teeth or Youth Code playing?

Don’t get why they’d go over FLA seeing as this is a “REAL INDUSTRIAL FANS” niche sort of thing; I could only really see that happening in a setting trying to get a wider pop-and-rock crossover type audience out there.

They weren’t on the Crow soundtrack (though checking now, they were in the near-unwatchable 3rd one that’s a bastardization of a Poppy Z Brite novel, which incidentally is also where the Burton C. Bell/Static-X cover of “Burning Inside” originates), but they did have a handful of successful singles, made some dents in charts etc. and got/get used in a shitload of movies/games/TV shows. Not a fan at all, except for that “Save Yourself” song in spite of being pure cheese, but they’ve definitely got their fanbase and are pretty fondly-remembered as far as 90s “industrial” alternative rock acts not named NIN or Marilyn Manson go.

Oops, mixed them up with Machines of Loving Grace. Sorry, I got my NIN-clone bands from the early 90’s confused. I can see why they are headlining over FLA in that they had more mainstream success.

I actually really like their song “what do I have to do” Although I haven’t heard it in years. I doubt I’d go to a free concert of theirs let alone pay to see them on a bill.

Just for the record the free show I went to featured a bunch of bands…i wouldn’t go see them alone at a free show either…I have a real aversion to that band and especially their vocalist…

This weekend!
