Whoa. What a snooze fest of a line up. Think I’d only be interested in seeing Cyanotic since they remind me so much of Chemlab. Cocksure would be one too, just to see Barker and Connelly back in action.
I just picked up 2 day passes… I see the 242 guys are doing a DJ set at Smart Bar on Sunday - I may stick around for that…
I think it should be pointed out that COCKSURE is Connelly / Novak (and fucking awesome). There’s no mention of Barker being involved in any way…
As far as FF, I saw them on their recent tour where they hit secondary club locations (not major cities). It was fucking sick. They basically ripped through a fair amount of new stuff and then played quite a few Demanufacture tracks and a bunch of tracks off of Soul of a New Machine. They were in top form, in my very humble opinion.

^That.
I was on vacation last year, and fit in their Seattle show. It was beyond intense. I ended up seeing as much as I could of what remained of that tour.
Even when they were opening for MegaDeth [7-8 songs] it was SO GOOD.
I especially like that they vary their setlist on each of the tours.
Not every single show that I attended of theirs has been ‘perfect’ (which is more of a crowd thing in my perspective), but I cannot wait to see them at Metro. There are very few bands I’m enthusiastic about, but they’re definitely one of them.
With the fest a few weeks away, can we get updated attendance?
I am flying in from KC for Friday night only. If we get in early enough on Thursday, I may try to see False Icons at the pre-party.
I’ll be there from Thursday until Sunday… should be a blast! I’m flying in from NYC and will likely be hanging with some of my Chicago-based friends the first evening… but let’s all try to meet up or something on Friday / Saturday! I missed all the prongers last year. I think catgoat was there?
Gunnar, are you attending?
Im going to try to find a way to head out there.
Just got back from something over at the Empty Bottle, and am going to a taping of Judge Mathis(the only thing a friend requested to do)
See everyone out here whenever.
No, Filthpig. I’m sorry if that came off confusing. I’m not gonna be in Chicago this time around. I just liked the idea of hanging out and playing mini golf with ya, but I won’t actually be able to be there. Have a great weekend, though. I’ll be in Dallas for a proper Scaccia tribute show.

The Scaccia tribute sounds awesome. I hope you have a great time.
I live within walking distance of the Metro and have no interest in this crapfest.
If I was in town I might be tempted to go to the Cocks show to see if I could get Connelly to cry on stage, but other than that, zero interest.
The Rigor Mortis show is $10, and ANYONE is welcome to join them for a pre-show BBQ across the street ($7 for a big plate of food). So there’s a proper $17 VIP package right there.
I can’t really see myself spending $100 to shake hands with some 60 year old techno-rockers who think it’s still 1992. But I know a bunch of people are still into that, so . . . . I hope they have a great time.

How does it feel to live near a crapfest?[/reply]
I don’t know. According to this thread, it doesn’t start until Friday, but I’ll let you know.
It shouldn’t be too hard to avoid the Metro for two days, though. Even great venues host horrible events.
