Have any of you heard of this piece of shit hipster/faux 80s goth new wave revival marketing technique? Let’s make fun of them together.
I don’t care, I actually really like them.
I think it’s interesting that Prurient is in the group too.
I bought this last night, actually, and although I don’t have a passionate, truly informed opinion of it yet, I like what I heard.
Christ are you serious? Prurient is a member of this? No…
I know he’s associated with them or has played with them at least several times.
I don’t hate it.
The Joy Division worship has gotten a little old though.
It’s not bad, but not very interesting. Actually, the music is very similar to “Temptation” by New Order. I’d rather listen to this than anything in, say, the Billboard Hot 100.
1002
It started out like it was a cover of that “Wild Horses” song from Silence of the Lambs, then quickly jumped into New Order/Joy Division territory. Not terrible, but not memorable either.
Huh, yeah I like that too! It’s a good sound that I liked in the 80s and I like it now too. Why not?
edit to add: Wish there was a decent chorus in this though…
There are far better post-punk revival bands out there that don’t rip off Joy Division as much.
Ha! the start of that is like ‘Goodbye Horses’. ‘Clerks II’ made good use of that song and Rosario Dawson:

Don’t know much about that band but they look like poseurs and sound pretty boring. With a lot these “Joy Division” bands they concentrate too much on their silly hair and tight clothing instead of making memorable tunes. They are just going through the motions. No thanks.
Hangin’ with Ian Curtis
at least those crap bands dissapear really quick or change thier style for the next thing (‘the bravery’ anyone?)
I actually like these guys quite a bit, but i will say that this “love comes close” song is by far my least fav track on their new cd. They admit that that is their new order tribute/rip off song. Their earlier stuff was much noisier then all of a sudden they got real poppy. Some of you may like their old style much better. If so check out the comp called “Cremations”. Most of their releases are out of print but the 12" they did on Dais Records (the label that currently releases COUM Transmissions etc) was great imo. Their image annoys me but i can’t dislike the music because of that. And yes Prurient is currently in the band and his label Hospital Productions has released some of the rougher sounding Cold Cave tracks. They even released a collab cassette for a recent tour together called “stars explode”.
You may have heard their song “life magazine” in a recent Radio Shack commercial as well. It has a chick singing.
check out some songs like:
in a cave (off of Cremations)
heaven was full (off of their new cd Love Comes Close)
now that i’m the future (of of new EP Death Comes Close)
I just found out that I’ll be opening for them in Seattle.
I have a noise project.
Can’t wait.
Not bad. Reminds me too much of Joy Division. Maybe a little New Order, but I only know very little of their work. The lyrics are very cliche, and so are they. But, the music is certainly very catchy.

Link? Is it really Noise or is it “Noise” a la Pitchforkmedia’s definition?
Some of my stuff is ambient/drone, but mainly it’s harsh noise. Not “noise” rock or distorted disco.
