Thought Luc did more of the remixes, oh well. I also received a poster & an industrial family platter sampler.
Just starting to listen to the remixes now. Will update shortly.
Mrs. Jay bitched at me on the PA (and rightly so, I suppose), about these Cocktail Mixxxes. I had my panties all in a bunch, because we were originally supposed to vote on them online, or something, with the chosen few being the selections for the CD.
Phildo had some other pressing engagements or some such, and only contributed the few you see. Coincidentally, his “mixxxes” are the best on the album…actually, haven’t heard the Stayte remix, as I bought it online. And I’ll buy it on CD in the next two weeks.
[;)] 'Cause I’m lame like that.
actually she shouldn’t bitch. i mean come on, we know that “they work hard, etc”. but they should NEVER give the (little remaining) fans false hope on upcoming things, i know life seems super great to ministry now but still i’d love to see MUCH LESS HYPE or anything “we’re gonna do this and that” - alot of things that after all the hubbub end up just like that - still being “plans that were in the past”.
I hate the remixes… They sound like something from the late 80s/early 90s and I really dont need to hear any more of that stuff. Things have changed a little bit in electronic music since that time.
Add Clayton to Ministry, and lose the Slayistry bullshit. You just might end up with something classic.
They mentioned on the Stayte myspace page that Clayton was remixing Ministry, too.
So you may sort of get your wish.
And speaking of myspace, does anyone know if any of the Revco Soundsystem remixes on myspace are different from the ones on the cd?
EDIT:
Did this actually get released in stores? It doesn’t look like a single Best Buy in the nation got a copy…
I got mine from Amazon. Neither of the local Best Buys, as of Thursday, had it in stock. I haven’t had a chance to check the local indie shop but I’d figure them to have it.
So far initial impressions are that Cocktail Mixx is all over the original album. Much, much better mastering and mixing. There’s actually some low end on this one!
