Circle of Dust

I am not sure if any of you are following the reissues that are being released by these guys, but in my opinion, they are one of the few who are actually doing it right.

Not only are the remastering the original work (and I mean ACTUALLY remastering the albums appropriately) but they are also adding some very cool unreleased items. Throw in cool new artwork, swag and most of all new tunes.

I wish more bands would handle their re-releases in this manner.

Weren’t these guys the “christian” industrial band? Or am I thinking of someone else?

They were on a Christian Label and were associated with the Genre. Their founder, has evolved and now has the project Celldweller.

One of the best in that coldwave guitar industrial genre from the mid 90’s. That Brainchild album was in heavy rotation in my cd player back in high school. I agree - the reissues are well done and sound very nice. And I think the material holds up.

That’s them. I never followed them, but I remember a bunch of people in the scene were all on their jock. I’m not one to give much of an insider opinion as I probably already thought the genre was getting sad, but I don’t remember anything particularly moving or special about them.

Mentallo and the Fixer was another that everyone seemed to be jerking off over and didn’t really do anything for me.

This band was cool thanks for reminding me of them.

A friend gave me a copy of their Disengage album back in the day.

I really liked it at the time. I haven’t listened to it in a quite a while, might need to revisit is sometime.

COD were one of the few Coldwave bands with legitimate songwriting chops. They used clean vocals, melodies and some ahead of their time programming with pristine production. Check out Brainchild too as it might be the closest to Ministry in terms of aggression. However, everything they did is good and you can’t go wrong with any of it.

The Disengage re-release comes out in October
