Too bad, pretty young to boot.

That article is really vague, but it says he died as a victim of his “addiction”.
I’m guessing he OD’d?
Very sad whatever the means.

RIP Chuck.

It was an over dose. He had been clean for a long while following a successful stint in rehab. He hated being an addict. He had such a sweet soul. He was one of the most sincerely kind, humble, and loving people I’ve ever known. He and I were talking on Wednesday and he was so happy. It was a wonderful conversation. There are not enough words to describe how much his friendship meant.

Sad. Seems strange since the cd just came out and I’m thinking people were liking it… RIP.

Thanks man. There was only one Chuck and he was awesome.

[:(] Sad to hear this. My condolences to his family & friends. I confess I don’t know about all of the man’s musical output, but his work with FNM was unique… I’ll be playing “Faster Disco” today.

Rest In Peace

What a year.

Rest in peace, Chuck.

Sad to hear. Especially so soon after that album’s release. Thought maybe that was the start of him recording more.

I’ve been booking shows for 16 years now, and for pretty much that whole time Chuck was on my “one day” list, he’s always been a personal hero to me musically, seemed like a sweet dude, and was at a point careerwise where he was probably attainable for the place I do most of my booking at (and now bartending at). Finally I got my chance this fall, I was working with his conga player/manager Doug, unfortunately I had to turn them down TWICE, both dates they had contacted me for we had shows already, with entry level touring bands who wouldn’t gotten a cut after Chuck’s guarantee, which didn’t seem fair to us so we kept the original bookings. They were really cool about it, said they’d probably be back in January, no big deal, we’ll hit you up then. Goddamn it. Both of those shows we passed him up for were flops, too. I’m never going to stop kicking myself for that. RIP Chuck, I wish I could’ve met you.
