Undoubtedly, this has been discussed a million and one times on here. But I can’t be arsed wading through old threads to find one.
Just finished it. And I enjoyed it thoroughly. He does have quite a bit of a downer on Al, but I don’t blame him (within two pages of him recounting when he met Al for the first time, I wanted Connelly to knock Jourgensen’s fuck in).
Only complaint is that he only touches upon Murder Inc and The Damage Manual, both I’m a huge fan of.
I liked it. I love most “rock bios” and it definitely delivered.
Found some of the stuff he’d written about Al pretty funny. There was one part, if I remember correctly, where he mentions Al drunkenly running on a treadmill while cursing and complaining loudly. Apparently Al was really insecure about his weight or something?
I enjoyed the book but it seemed a little quaint that he didn’t lay down any dirt on Barker like he did Al. I guess he was being nice/respectful. Through some channels I got my book signed my Chris. Thanks!
i really liked reading it. chris has always been my favorite non-al singer on any of the ministry stuff, so it was really nice to hear from the man who (possibly) wrote some of the most inspirational lyrics for me.
that said, i was let down by a lot of his descriptions of Al, mostly because he seemed to be talking about the Al of then, through the lens of his hatred of the Al of now. i feel like if he really disliked/didnt care for/wasnt impressed by/felt pity for Al as much as he made it seem in the book he wouldnt have given up so much to just move over and devote years of his life to the man and his ideas.
i know Al burned all his bridges and let his own inadequacies destroy him in the end (2004ish is when i figure it got reeeeeeaaalllly bad) but at the time, he was more than human, the soaring high part of the bipolar sociopathic curve he was always on.
either way, enjoyed the book. its a shame that it seems like it will stand as the only legible account of that time period.

Until Paul or Bill writes a book. I’d also like to hear/read what Rey Washam has to say, since he didn’t get credit for playing on HOTM and Cocked & Loaded.

“THIS IS FUCKING BULLSHIT MAN” smile[/reply]
Yeah, that is one moment that def stands out hahaha…there are a few times in that dvd where he is visibly perturbed…
It’s funny after watching Sphinctour as many time as I have all the little things you start to notice…I like that part where Al is just pouring the bottle of water in his mouth to relieve the pain of the open junkie sores in his mouth heh…some of those shows he looked rougher than others…whichever show it was where he has the red shirt and red snow cap was a rough one…he looked seriously strung out with his eyes rolling back in his head…

I was surprised he was spinning in circles the way he did.
I actually had a drinking game for Sphinctour. Part of it was take a shot for every time you see Louis Svitek smile, and also when Al yells at him to get out of the bathroom. Also for any time you saw Duane Buford, whom we referred to as the random black guy because he didn’t really look like he was part of the band. Then the double shot before Stigmata where Al talks about how he was running on an hour of sleep. There was more, but I lost the rules. All I remember was that I wouldn’t have been able to play the whole thing without puking.
