Chris Connelly w/Ministry tonight for "So What"

Yeah, I’ve heard a lot recently that Angie was behind a lot of Al’s falling outs. Even the daughter said Angie would send her fake emails writing as Al. But, I know some folks who think she’s pretty cool. So, who knows.

Being on the tour, I can confirm that John Bechdel (Ministry’s keyboardist who has been in a ton of Industrial Rock bands) did make it happen.

He told me before he was trying to patch shit between those two and then lo and behold I was backstage in Chicago and someone said Al was actually at sound check singing “So What” with a special guest onstage.

I thought “no way!” ran upstairs and there was CC! They seemed genuinely happy to be together again and there was a palpable chemistry in the air.

Awesome highlight of the tour.

From what I gather the Paul Barker thing is a much deeper grudge but hey…never say never!

Another day they were sound checking “Burning Inside” but someone said Al won’t play it.

Lots going on. See whoever in Cincinatti tomorrow!

seem like Al and Paul really don’t like one another.

I dont know. Ive never heard or read Barker say anything bad about Al. Seems like all of the venom has come from Al. Paul seems very blase about it from what i can tell.

Bro! From Prongs front page:

Barker: “I talked to Ogre about this fresh idea I had: make a generic thrash metal record and sing about current lame political woes using sesame street lyrics, but I still have all my teeth and wanted songs with a little more bite than that. After many hilarious phone calls a deal was struck: I write the music and he writes and sings the lyrics.”

Hahahaha, seriously?! I haven’t been to prongs front page in years. My bookmark is set at the log in page. That’s hystrical

Paul definitely took the high road for years, and was the less outspoken one, between him and Al. I actually never saw that quote on the front page lampooning Nu-Ministry, pretty funny.

At the risk of repeating myself, one of my favorite Barker quotes will always be when I was standing next to him at Neo in 2011 (during Retrospectacle weekend), and “Geburt Einer Nation” was playing by Laibach. Paul looks at me and says “Hey Jim, doesn’t it sound like he’s saying ‘Get me a light beer?!’” I think anyone that knew that song back in '87, joked about it back in the day. It was just funny to hear that from him almost 25 years later.

That might only be topped by his “starfucker” rant in a radio interview in 1991 on the BSQ tour, which Trent likely borrowed for a song title later on.

Do you ever get a chance to mingle with Al and the other band members or do they do their own thing?[/reply]

I realize the question is for Void, but the answer is yes to both. Good food finds per city seem to be quite the popular thing to do on their own. There was an after party we went to in Chicago.

Haven’t seen this mentioned yet. Deserves a thread bump.

“It’s gonna be myself, Swamp, Al (Jourgensen), Chris Connelly and Phildo (Owen). Those are the five right now that are in the mix of this new album and it’s something that is going to happen.”

I’d be interested in hearing a Cocks album that mixed '70s rock, '70s disco, and '70s industrial.
