chris connelly box set through invisible

It’s advertised I think as being signed on one of the cds or pages or whatever… So should i just go ahead and assume it’s just martin with a sharpie?

yes.

Does it say specifically that it was signed by CHRIS and not, say an intern or the janitor or someone?

…wish he’d sign a check (cheque)

hey martin. welcome to america(decades later).guess you didn’t understand the part in the citizenship oath about staying crimefree .that’s a tough one for some freshly minted citizens, but you’ve been here for a long time. it’s not like you just hopped the border from canada.
hope you’re enjoying yourself.
by the way, is it true people from your village in england are all criminals or inbred? just asking.
or maybe you never learned the fine art of writing a check.

Oh, I think he’s far too “punk rock” and anti establishment to confine himself with society’s archaic restrictions like “banks” and “checks” and “money”. let’s not forget folks was he not the man who played drums with Billy Idol? on the legendary “cyberpunk” record?? no wait, maybe it was an Adam Ant solo album, either way, punk as fuck, yo!

Ha! Did he really play on “Cyberpunk”?
I heard Idol made every journalist who wanted to interview him about that album read William Gibson’s Neuromancer only to later reveal that he had never actually read the book himself.

punk as fuck, yo!

hahahah …i use that phrase (with it dripping is sarcasm, just like yourself) all the time

Wow, um, Wikipedia has a huge amount written about “Cyberpunk” - it’s really sad actually. Billy Idol, man, the dude’s fuckin’ crazy.

One question for Chris, I remember you had bad stories about Invisible, Martin and Pigface sometime after “Fook” came out. What caused you to go back and do Damage Manual, the c.c. comp and all that? Did it look like it’d be better the second time out or did you do it for the chance to work with the Killing Joke crew and see the music get out there.

I did the damage manual because I really wanted to work with Geordie again, and the thought of working with Jah Wobble was really exciting, it kind of made sense at that time to have invisible do my albums as well.
Ya live n’learn

is this the video you refer to in your book chris www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuqrJWpH44E uh what’s the story with this [;)]

Um, yeah. I ran across that as well. What is that playing in the background? Kind of hard to hear it, but I think I like it.

(Yeah, I know. What kind of a nerd wants the soundtrack to puppet porn… Guess that’s me.)

well actually i kinda liked it 2 (the song) i was watchin that video and i look behind me and theres my GF starin odd with me watchin a guy hump a puppet and the headline looking for good cock all i could say was " heh-heh i can explain"

I’d guessed it went something like that. The Damage Manual stuff was pretty darned good, so maybe it was all worth it.

That puppet video was some funny stuff.
I needed that after finding out that my dogs ate my expensive shoes.

Dammit.

Not wanting to start a fight or anything, but while living in London recently I stayed with people who knew Killing Joke fairly well and said that Jaz is more or less a money grubbing, coke head psycho and Geordie is a complete train wreck of a guy who couldn’t make a sandwich without cutting half his arm off and having the police knock on the door at least twice (their words not mine).

One story goes that Geordie had some people put him up for the night in their flat after he was too drunk/wasted to go home after a house party. In the morning the flat owners woke up only to find Geordie gone, urine/vomit on the carpet and money missing from the kitchen. He’s also supposed to have called a neighbour’s 10 year old boy a ‘little faggot’ after he knocked on the door to retrieve a ball. Sounds like a nice guy! Yeah.

I used to wonder if there was any truth to this or if it was all hearsay and jealous bitching.

wow, now that’s a story!

yes, maybe, but they’re sooooo charming! Geordie may have his flaws, but so did Richard Burton, and all it does is make him more endearing, loveable & more interesting than the rest, and if he can’t make a sandwich, he is perhaps THE most innovative guitarists in post-punk, no one sounds like Geordie, and many, many have tried to impersonate him.

Scorpios are fuckin rad… hahaha

I agree Geordie is easily the most original guitarist in any alternative genre. In my opinion.

Ha ha, thats a funny story.

I think sometimes you just have to separate the art from the artist and accept that artists, especially musicians seem to have the tendency to be real douche-nozzles at times.

There are many artists that I probably wouldn’t like as humans, but that doesn’t stop me from liking their music.
